I got a new car today as well!

My trusty 2001 Ford Explorer of about 6 or 7 years finally bit the dust. And at 199832 miles too. So close!

So I needed a new car, and today there was a ridiculous deal in the paper on a 2014 Honda Civic. $60/month for two years. Very good deal, gets me through school and into what should be my first job (and where the back-end price is almost reasonable enough for me to consider buying it out at the end.) And the car is actually really damn nice. A lot of amenities and tech and all that. Also to go from driving a hand-me-down, red, two door, 1994 Explorer to a hand-me-down, red, two door, 2001 Explorer, driving a brand new car is fantastic haha.

Damn, that is a fantastic deal! Congrats!

Nice. I just got a brand new 2014 Buick Verano on a lease to own deal and the monthly payments are pretty similar. Having a new car with working AC in Phoenix is such a help.

Today is opening day for my coed softball, mens' league softball and inline hockey leagues. It feels great to go out there and run/skate around, but I'm sure I'll feel like hell tomorrow morning.

You know you married a good one when you're surprised with 8th row Kings/Ducks tickets as an anniversary present.

People who think they are "defending the Constitution" by instigating fights with officers at subway checkpoints.

That sounds like something that calls for a "tase him" chant.

You manage to balance agitation with just enough salient points to keep things interesting. Kind of a low-rent DG_Now.

Had my first ever famous person sighting today. Unfortunately it was corrupt Congressman Charlie Rangel, who was leaving Penn Station as I was entering.
(Yes, I know it's sad that I consider him a famous person, and yes, it's probably even sadder that I recognized him. But it was still kind of neat.)

First place was a trip to a road playoff game, but now that the Ducks have moved into first in the West and may likely stay there and play Dallas, I was a little less enthused about that. Not that I wouldn't love a trip to a road playoff game, but I've already been to Dallas for a Ducks game. I was a little more excited when it looked like it was going to be Minnesota.

And really, I think I wanted the second place zamboni ride the whole time  We have season tickets, so I was going to the game anyway, but in the 20 years we've had tickets, I've never rode the zamboni or know how to get there. So I'm pretty stoked on the zamboni ride haha.

I never took a ride during a game, but I have taken a ride (and even driven, but not in a ice-cleaning situation) on the zamboni before, and it is a neat thing.  It's louder than you think.

Riding this home today was a real boat floater. Boys, allow me to introduce my new 2014 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic.

Highlander Grog coffee. I recently went to St. Louis and got absolutely addicted to it. It's amazing. So glad I brought a bag home with me.

On the home screen of my Roku player, there's an ad off to one side.  Often it's for AOL News: "Random News Story" WATCH IT NOW.  The first time I ever noticed these ads, the story was "Angelina Jolie has another breast surgery" WATCH IT NOW.  I have to believe they didn't really think that one through.
