I was going to get all excited for that, but then I remembered I have Canadian Netflix.

Just finished my first-ever interview for a job in Minor League Baseball. In the moment, I felt that it went "just alright," but I've got a habit of giving myself too little credit, which means it probably went very well in all actuality. Either way, I'll get an answer within a few weeks.

My little brother had a hockey tournament in Holland, Michigan this weekend. While looking for things to do in the area, I discovered a small trading card shop. My parents let me get some pretty sweet stuff from there, including a:

1. 1968 Topps Denny McLain card
2. 1984 World Series program
3. Tiger Stadium hologram card (it's some sort of promotional card for Blockbuster from 1994)
4. John VanBiesbrouck card with a sort of scouting report type coloum about him written by his former Rangers teammate, Mark Messier.

Add that to the fact that I got to spend the weekend with some of my best friends, you could say that I had a pretty good trip.

Get well soon, Mr. Hockey.

Going to play shinny tonight, my first time playing since April. As much as I enjoy refereeing, I've really missed playing hockey. Should be fun!

It's egg nog time! It's always so comforting going to the supermarket and seeing the first pack of egg nogs on display. This must be how Northerners feel about seeing the first snow of the winter!

The first snow of winter is much less comforting when it's in mid-October.

American FactFinder.

The sheer amount of demographic data is mind-boggling. I'm actually enjoying pulling data for my thesis.

Back-to-back boat floaters by yours truly... today was a good day.

To piggyback on my previous post, I found a dataset for my thesis that I'd been trying to find for months.

Winthrop beat Clemson today for the first time since 1991, and the 5th win in program history over an ACC team. I predicted Winthrop to win 76-74 on the Winthrop message board, final was 77-74.

I found $5 on the floor at 7-Eleven. Had $2 in change after I bought what I went for, said screw it, bought a $2 scratch-off ticket. Won $40.

Came back, watched the end of the Steelers-Titans game, and Le'Veon Bell won me my FF matchup by 4 yards.

Figured I had something going here, went back to 7-Eleven, bought a $10 scratch-off and won $50. Bought another $10 ticket and won nothing. Quit while I was ahead.  :D

Dodged a lake effect snow bullet... so far. Lake effect snow storms can be extremely localized and the bands sometimes sit over one area and don't move much at all. I have a couple of inches at my house; literally less then five miles away, there's over a foot and driving bans.

The Astral Observatory theme from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. I found an orchestrated version of it and it might be one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever listened to.

My job search success continues. An opening became available today that's literally a couple thousand miles closer to home than any of the others I've applied for. I don't have a need to stay super close to home, but staying on the same coast would be quite convenient. :P

Anyway, it's in Minor League Baseball, and it happens to be in a league I've been wanting very much to work in. Just sent my application. My experience fits the job description to a tee, now just hoping for the best.

My son got a make-your-own Monopoly game for his birthday, where you can label the place names and other spaces. One of the names he chose was "Jesus's Pizza Place".
