Officially accepted UNC-Greensboro's offer yesterday. Yay grad school!

Excited to take this class.

Looking like (time permitting) I'll be suiting up for at least a few games as this guy, too:

Hopefully your grades will be better than that mascot's cup size?

The BMW i8 floats my boat! The first true futuristic concept car that is going into production.

Congrats! As a former mascot myself, in middle school, nonetheless  , how does the process go at the Collegiate level? Do you have an inside track on the fraternity that is mascot-hood? Or is it more or less a volunteer, show off your talent and past experience, and get the gig kind of thing?

I got my start by just trying out at Winthrop and I ended up getting the job. Once you've gotten some experience, there's a sort of "fraternity that is mascot-hood" in the sense that mascots in the area tend to do a lot of the same events and end up getting to know each other and networking. There's a lot of voluntary (read: unpaid) appearances in the mascot "business," and an easy way of assuring that people will show up is a quid pro quo agreement where say, I showed up at the Charlotte Knights' big event (usually only 1 per team per season), so the Knights' mascot will show up at mine. More experience is always better, so the "better" mascot jobs usually go to a former mascot with experience instead of just holding an open tryout.

I realize this is going to sound a little silly, but I had a favorite stuffed dog when I was little. It was a hand-me-down, got completely worn out, lost its tagging years and years ago...I still have it and have always wanted to find another one. I did some research and found a few expired Ebay listings and now know exactly what to search for, hopefully another will pop up soon.

Walk-off (well kinda not really, it got us to the run rule) 2 RBI triple to win the game tonight in my first game back from having a wrist injection!  My first triple in a LONG time, if not ever.

My 6 month old niece and my 4 year old nephew and his best buddy all going to their first ballgame today. They had a pretty good game. The boys got baseballs from Ozzie Guillen, they met Billy, and they got on TV (Cubs broadcast.) My niece spent the 7th inning stretch on the dugout with Billy and she got on TV too (Marlins broadcast.) I guess the Marlins announcers even talked about my niece.

Oh, and what is probably most important around here; they all got jerseys and hats.  B)

My nephew Thomas (primary home jersey) and his best buddy Jake (orange alt) with their baseballs and getting on TV with Billy.

Finally, I think they may have talked their parents into getting Uncle infrared an orange Marlins replica jersey for his birthday.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game.  They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White.  Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base.  In the sand.  With no ice.  Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather.  Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

Nice.  Get 'em into sports young!  And at the risk of having my masculinity called into question, that's a pretty darn adorable baby.

And on the subject of boat floaters, today I have officially been married half of my life.  21 years, and she still puts up with my crap.

My planned summer and fall is floating my boat.

In May I'm going to Italy for a family members wedding. I plan to do a Minor League ballpark tour in late June through the Appalachians and area. In October the plan is to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the colours and catch a West Virginia football game.

Add all that to my already completed trips to England in February and to Los Angeles in March, this year is looking to be one of my most memorable yet.

She is adorable. Anyone who questions our masculinity for thinking so will surely have bad names and insults hurled their way.  B)

Wow. 21 years. Nice work.

Disc golf on the warmest day of the year in one of the most beautiful spots in the world.

And speaking of one of the most beautiful places in the world, I know this semi-secret spot in my home town that has the most amazing view of the lake, and last night I took that special someone to that secret spot to watch the sunset.

Yesterday The hipsters at my school who do the morning announcements played Bob Marley's "One Love" for 420 instead of the usual dubstep/underground rock crap they usually play.

Also Yesterday in general. Won't go into details but my day yesterday was just flat out  awesome.

My youngest brother (8 yrs old) got a tooth pulled a few days ago, but had forgotten to place the tooth under his pillow for the Tooth Fairy until last night. I was home babysitting him because my parents were celebrating thier anniversary in Park City, so I was given the green light to "be the Tooth Fairy" for the night. I gave my brother $4 (the remaining 1's in my wallet) instead of the usual $1 or $2 he's usually recieved because he was (quoting the note I left him :P) "really good for the dentist." Seeing him hold up his cash first thing in the morning exclaiming "I got FOUR dollars!!" totally made my day, it was great to see him that happy about it.
