I didn't have pets growing up, my Mom was allergic, so I only had goldfish. After 2 or 3 of those died within weeks I lost all interest in pets. When I met my girlfriend (now wife) she had an Australian Shepherd named Toby. He was 14, deaf, practically blind, bad joints, etc. One afternoon while we were over at her parent's for dinner they let him out in the yard, he wandered off like he usually did, but this time he never came back. They found him the next day on the highway on-ramp a couple of miles from the house. I miss the old guy :(

My wife and I adopted two cats last year from the local humane society. Brody (male) is the grey and white one, and Shelby (female) is the all grey. They were adopted 6 months apart but took only hours to bond. They love each other and are a great pair!

I live kinda in the middle of nowhere and have a lot of space so I have 3 dogs: 14 year old Medley, who is a mix of like 9 different breeds, 6 or 7 year old collie Sadie, and 2 year old blue heeler/something else Stanley (yes, because of the Stanley Cup).

I also have 8 cats: Bobby, Scrat and Smokey are mine, Jersey, Sully, and Ironhide are my littlest brother's, and Garfield, Sylvester and Joe (deceased) are my other brother's. Sorry no pictures.

Not sure if that's in dog years or in human years.

I'm a dog lover. I don't mind cats or other animals, but I love dogs.

This past July, I finally got a puppy of my own.

557186_4653185339803_1453363488_n.jpg

We adopted (rescued) him. His name is Durango (the shelter named him that and we kept it as not to confuse him). He's around nine months right now.

Here are a couple more pictures of him:

The last one is of my dog, myself and my girlfriend. He's around 4-5 months in the last photo.

In case if you guys were curious about his breed, he's an Australian Shepard/Rottweiler mix. He definitely has the energy of a Shepard, but with the protectiveness of a Rottweiler. His face is definitely Shepard and his coat (hair length) is a Rottweiler.

I love my bud tremendously.

EDIT: Here's one more picture of him at 8 weeks:

My sister's bed, she pulled the comforter out of the closet because she was cold and my cat happened to lay in that position.

My roommate's dog, Rylie.

Our other friend (female) put the bow on her for a photo. We're way nicer than that.

Since this thread has been resurrected, I guess I'll add our most recent addition to the family.

This is Vincent Beauregard Geronimo Van Geaux. His actual name is Vinnie. The extended moniker is the result of this habit I have of coming up with ridiculous nicknames for our animals. We adopted Vinnie the week before Thanksgiving in 2011. It was a couple months after my old pal Luther (page 3 of this thread) passed away at 18. Don't let this picture fool you. Vinnie is a class-A lunatic. He's a real entertainer and comedian.

Thats a handsome beast infrared.

Usually long haired cats like that (Possibly a Maine Coon?) are kick ass cats to have I used to have an orange Maine Coon (Phil) who was like having a 2nd dog.
