$teauA
The Bobcats announced towards the end of last season that they would be debuting all new uniforms sets this season. The official online store is a clear indication of that as well as all their current jerseys are on ridiculous sales. Personally I'm thrilled that they'll finally be getting rid of the hideous unis they've had since year one. As a Bobcats fan, it has been hard to watch them night in and night out wearing those things so I'm looking forward to the change.Check this out as well http://store.shopbobcats.com/bobcats-jerseys.html
DallasSports
Are they keeping their logos and colors, just changing the uniforms?

Burmy
Since Bob Johnson is selling the team now, I think the new owner should rename them the "Charlotte Flight" (which actually did win the name-the-team contest, but he ignored...)Keep the colors though... Brian in Boston
I wanted "Carolina Cougars", but I think those old Spirits of St. Louis owners (who are still getting TV revenue from the NBA) might own that name. Am I right? No, the Silna brothers no longer own the Carolina Cougars trademark. In point of fact, NBA Properties holds the trademark rights to the name. chestnutz
They desperately need to redesign their uniforms. The logos are decent enough (especially for the hideous NBA standard), but their uniforms are appaulingly ugly. FiddySicks
So they're gonna go from a somewhat unique orange jersey to navy blue just like everyone else. Woop-dee-doo. HisAirness24
I'm fully anticipating the wordmark (and maybe the jersey) to look like this:If you recall, they debuted these jerseys at the 'Nascar Night' game in Charlotte.I think they'll be using the same wordmarks, and they'll probably drop the nascar side panels. 16 NBA Titles1949, 1950, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1972, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010
tBBP
If one was to ask me, that's TEXT with a dropshadow...in whatever the Bobcats call that proprietary font of theirs. That ain't nowhere near a wordmark. (Nothing against the OP...just letting my personal vice for the direction so-called "wordmarks" are/have been heading show through a little bit is all.) *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||

I mean, seriously, the Bobcats? Sounded more like a little league team than a pro one. Does the NBA have any regulations on changing team names though, like they do about changing jerseys or what not?
The_Admiral
I know a lot of peeople have ragged on the idea of one sport taking design cues from another sport (dubious one at that), but I'm in favor of the checkerboard panels. If you're going to wear navy blue like everyone else, might as well do something flashy and distinctive. Does it have any historical significance? Or is it just a jab at how the previous franchise skipped town?In a Utopian NBA, Utah would relinquish their team name to New Orleans, who would relinquish theirs to Charlotte. Charlotte Hornets, New Orleans Jazz, and Utah whatever. Ah how sweet that would be.In any event, and off-topic, I know, but I'm new here. Say what you will, but you'll know instantly who's playing when you see them on TV (are they on TV?) I too am in favor of the checkerboard panels. Not sure how to pull it off on the white jersey though - maybe black and orange checks? cappital92
The idea of checks sounds good, but I think black and white checkboard patterning would look bad on a navy jersey. If they switched the black to blue or orange, I'd be for it 100%. http://www.wizardsxtra.com Is it the shoes?
