The only difference is that Dooley never said he wanted to be at LA Tech for a long time, he also never committed secondary violations, or tried to change a lot of LA Tech's Traditions.

All things Kiffin Did.

Oh, and Dooley's assistants aren't still hanging around Tech like Kiffin's are still hanging around UT.

Kiffin should be applauded for the deal he got his assistants.

While we don't know of LaTech's transgressions (who gives a damn really, every school in the SEC has been on probation and if Bama wasn't Bama, they would have gotten the death penalty), Dooley the Younger had a contract, recruited a bunch of kids with false promises, and bolted during prime recruiting season for a fatter paycheck. All things Kiffin did, too. But the yahoos down in Knoxville don't have a problem with what Dooley's doing.

Yes, both of them suffer from poor timing. However, Kiffin is vilified because of his attitude more than anything (and his aloofness) and because he's seen as a Daddy's boy. Dooley doesn't have his dad on staff. Kiffin talked big game but couldn't back it up on the field (hell, he even lost to Auburn, at home no less)

Kiffin just fits the role of "the heel".

In the world of college football, Louisiana Tech et. al. is less equal than other schools. It may not be right, but that is the way things are.

I'm surprised no one is talking about Urban Meyer threatening a reporter and the whole "we have a real QB now" thing.

well, here's what I think. Urban Meyer is an ass-hat. The reporter accurately quoted what Urban Meyer's wide receiver said. Urban Meyer freaks out on the reporter for reporting what the wide receiver said. Seems to me that Urban Meyer should talk to his wide receiver. There's a disconnect in his logic there. Maybe coach Meyer should've taken that break because he's wound so tightly that he can't seem to discern between a real problem with the press and one that isn't a problem at all. If he thought the press was against him before, now they're really going to be against him.

I hope Florida loses 7 games this year and Urban resigns.

Is that kinda what you were thinking?

It was amazingly stupid. That's pretty much it.

I mean, Meyer was like a few seconds away from challenging that reporter to throw hands. It really wasn't even that serious, especially considering that the WR's words were taken a bit out of context (By real quarterback he probably meant something along the line of "We don't have to rely on Tim Tebow being a running back that throws the ball, we're actually gonna have a prototypical QB back there").

Either way, that was no reason to go at a reporter like that.

1. That's exactly what he meant.

2. There are plenty of reasons to pound the daylights out of most sports writers. Unfortunately, that was not one of them. :D

Well, talking about Urban Meyer only further fuels his egomaniacal lunacy. We were doing the world a favor...but you ruined it. Thanks 'Red! :P

Dan Lefevour is amazing. I would not be upset if the Bills use a 3rd round pick on him.

He's the second greatest Dan in Central Michigan history

(don't flatter yourself, Charger, I'm talkin' 'bout the Thunderous one :D )

I did a quick search on Dan Lefevour and found this gem.

Bravo! I laughed my ass off!

When I was there one of my roommates had a friend named Dan. From the time we met him until graduation I was Dan and he was Other Dan.
