Will the Rangers and Giants be wearing World Series patches? Or will the winner just wear a patch next season? I can't recall if the MLB lets teams wear WS patches or not...

Yes, both will be wearing hat and jersey patches.

Obviously, patches aren't applied even in photoshopped form, but they wouldn't be selling these with patches in the description.

The Texas names and numbers would look so much better if the white and red outlines were reversed like it is on "Texas" on the front... and ditching the unnecessary black drop shadow. This may help with the player names, but I still think those could be basic MLB block and still work with the altered numbers.

New Tribe uni's will be revelaed in November per this little Q-A with reporter Anthony Castrovince. There is nothing revealing at all, just the month. Since Mark Shapiro is no longer GM, I'm wondering if the weekend alternates are gone. He had a large part in designing them.

Q- I've heard some whispers about the Tribe getting new uniforms for the 2011 season. I'm assuming it's more than just swapping the polyester material for cotton, a la George Costanza's influence. Do you have any insider information you could share, such as changes to the look or a reveal date? -- Mike A., Mount Vernon, Ohio

A- The uniforms will receive some subtle, not drastic, changes for 2011. The new unis are expected to be unveiled in November. And because of the threat of "shrinkage," I'm not expecting them to be 100 percent cotton.

Off the top of my head, the Washington Nationals are doing a complete overhaul of their sets and the Boston Red Sox were doing something boring by adding names on the back of their batting practice jerseys.

New unis will be unveiled on November 10th at a season ticket holder event.

New logo also? The main page currently has the Nats primary logo dated from 2005 - 2010.

One can only hope. I've never liked their current primary logo. It's awkward and already looks dated.

A few more details:

After months of rumors and speculation, the Nats are set to unveil significant changes to their uniforms on Nov. 10 at Nats Park. The team will hold a fashion show event at the stadium, and will show off at least three styles of uniforms. I've heard that, among other things, the gold accents and gold trim will be purged from the new designs, and the block NATIONALS on the home jersey will be replaced with a script Nationals. There will be other changes as well.

The Nats should have kept the gold accents. It helped distinguish them from the other clubs that wear navy and red. However, if nothing else, this revamp should be a success if it gives them one hat for home and road and makes a home wordmark to match the script Washington.

Yeah, I liked the gold accents.

My theory was that the uniform was always intended to be the navy DC hat with navy wordmarks and numbers, then they had to go with the red curly W hat and so the home script/numbers turned red, then they went with the navy W hat, and descended into confusion from there.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

The Nats were SO close to having the perfect uni set when they first came into the league. If they would've made a navy version of the DC alt caps and ditched the curly W cap altogether it would've been the best set in the league. If the latest road jersey switch is any indication, the Nats are now gonna look like the NL's version of the Twins.

BTW someone once posted a pic of a cameraman or sportswriter for the Nats wearing a navy cap with a W in the same style as the DC, that would've been good too.

The monument font all around would've been a whole lot better. If they're gonna match eveything with the script now, fine. At least it won't be some hodgepodge of different fonts. But its a downgrade if they go to primary red with everything. I thought the navy looked so good, especially with the red secondary and gold accents.

Does anyone know if the Rangers have any plans to actually put "Rangers" on their home uniforms as opposed to "Texas?" Some teams, such as the Angels and Phillies, have the franchise name on all of their jerseys, but the Rangers are the only team I know of that has the location on all their jerseys. They don't even have an alt that says "Rangers," from what I've seen.

According to this chat, not in 2011.

I can't say that this is what the Nationals are going with, but I picked up this prototype home jersey back in August. (Sorry the photos haven't gone up before today...I've been busy!)

Same nasty number font as before, just without the bells and whistles. If these had MLB block numbers, they'd be pretty sweet. As it is, it's a very thin baseball script topping a cross between old NE Patriots and Dallas Cowboys numbers...and that's not a good match. Not at all.

Love. That.

I know it's a prototype, so it's interesting to see that it's a Majestic authentic jersey, but doesn't have a Diamond Collection tag, nor the MLB batter logo on the back of the neck.

Also, I know the Cubs have a similar number font, at least for the 1's. The 11 on the Zimmerman jersey does remind me of Bledsoe's days in '93-94 for the Pats though.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
