I don't think that's it. Hasn't it been confirmed that the script will use a sans-serif font?

According to the people in this thread yeah,.

I like the way the marlin is designed in that one. To be honest as a Marlin fan, i would be kind of disappointed if they use the same style marlin and look after all this talk of distancing the new team from the old.

Looks like they were going for the 80's beach/tourist look (see below). Plain wordmarks, ugly colors, overall fail. Only thing that is decent about it is the actual Marlin icon but it's overshadowed by the suckiness of the rest of it. Gets lost in the shuffle. Hopefully they use it by itself sometime down the road.

By this post, I think it's going to be an abstact logo with pointy shapes serving as a "Marlin icon"

EDIT: Nevermind :D

If that's the real logo, I actually like it! The colors scream "Miami" and even the abstract marlin works well.  Was the resemblance to the old Dolphins Stadium logo intentional?

The wordmark on that appears to be a standard one for t-shirts.

If real, that isn't bad actually. Screams Miami.

The yellow is a bit forced and out of place, and I'd prefer the 'M' was orange with blue and white as the trim, but overall it's not too bad.

If that's it, I actually really like it. Their caps will look great if that's the logo that'll be on them.a

The trademark logo might be a sign that it is an actual team wordmark of some sort.  Generic fonts like that usually don't have TMs at the end, even for half a team name.

Smart is believing half of what you hear.  Genius is knowing which half.

The script sort of looks like the old Miami Marlins script.

This is about what I expected Marlin-wise, but I have to say "Not bad". The problem here is that the "marlin" looks so out of place. It looks like two logos; an 'M' and a marlin. The script is aboslutely horrible. It looks like something a college football team would wear above the front numbers. It looks like something you would see on a TEXAS Longhorns sweater. However, it's better than the font on the New Miami Marlins Ballpark logo though. The yellow looks good, but the silver is out of place. I was expecting something more. It's very plain, the "marlin" and the 'M' are not cohesive, and the color scheme just doesn't help. However, after expecting a disaster, it's actually bareable. I hope the 'M' and "marlins is just a part of the actual logo. If that's all, I am very disappointed.

I actually like the logo it's certainly not as good as the F logo they've always used, but after weeks, and months of how awful it looks this would be welcomed by me.

So they took the 90's Cavs colors (minus the yellow) and artistic look? It may scream "Miami", but it def doesn't scream 2012. I hope the uni's look better than this.

I can assure everyone to ignore the wordmark. It's very commonplace to use the same block font for standard shirts. Case in point, this isn't a current Marlins font:

The wordmark shown is just for the t-shirt, not a part of the package.
