I have the Lightning "stormfront" jersey, and it's a beaut. If/when you get one, make sure you get it customized with the electric number font. The Coyotes' peyote desert trip, though, that's one step too far for me.

After giving it some thought, there are three jerseys I've wanted to get my hands forever, but never have and probably never will:
- Orlando Thunder lime green
- Oakland Seals '67-'69
- Chicago Blitz (USFL) '84 red

I've got the Lightning, Coyotes, and red, black, and yellow Canucks jerseys previously posted. My advice on finding what you're looking for is to frequently check ebay and other auction sites, you just never know what will pop up and when. I ended up finding my Canucks jersey for $96 about 8 months ago.

Also, have a firm idea of how much you're willing to spend. It's a hobby, don't put yourself in the red. ^_^ If I spend less than I had budgeted for a jersey, I carry that amount over to use for another one. Only way I was able to get a LA Kings Burger King.

Sodboy, do you know the name of the old alternate jersey font? It's pretty distinctive and different from the home and road set of the time, as you know. Have you gotten one done somewhere?

You have a storm jersey AND Burger King?

Please don't say you have a Wild Wing jersey too.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

I don't know the name of the font, but if you want it done and done right, ship it to Exclusive Pro in Rockford. They're masters of the obscure details. I had my Ciccarelli Stormfront jersey done at City Sports Lettering in Tinley Park, IL, and while they did a spot-on job, it took a lot of leg work on my part for them to customize it correctly, it took them forever to do it, and they so horribly botched a Blue Jays jersey I had on the same order, with such bad customer service, that I swore off them for life.

And seconded on the eBay tips. A keen eye and self-restraint are key to landing yourself obscure steals in like-new (or brand new) condition. As much as I love that Thunder jersey, I don't love it over $200.

During the 1998 season, Darryl Strawberry left the Yankees to undergo treatment for colon cancer. While he was away, the Yankees wore special caps with "39" stitched on the side of the cap.

I contacted multiple online retailers that season asking if those caps would be available for purchase, and they all said no.

I really, really wanted one of those hats (and a Scott Brosius jersey, but that's neither here nor there), but expect that I never will find one.

I think it's a little bit creepy you wanted one of those hats.

Cancer, dude. Not cool.

I was a big fan of Darryl Strawberry that season. It made sense to me then.

Preferably, I want a white Amonte jersey, since he scored the World Cup winning goal in that jersey, but I'd probably settle for a blue and/or a different player.

I'd be content with a blue, but the white would be the ultimate.

I got this one signed by Jason LaBarbera. The best part about it was after he signed it he said, "$#!+". He signed it with a 35, his Wolf Pack number.

My 'whale' is Dan Girardi London Knights Jersey. I have his Hartford Wolf Pack Game-Worn, and his Rangers Replica.

I have one of these. Never wear it, and it's in pristine condition. I also got the blue one in a smaller size, which is a bit tight but still fits. I'm pretty sure I nabbed these when ProPlayer went out of business and liquidated all of their jerseys to Value City.

The white is a very nice looking jersey, and that's coming from a Devils fan :)
