I'm guardedly excited about the playoffs this year. I hope things can be different this year for the Caps, but we'll see. If theyre gonna make a long run, they need to keep the 1st round series vs the Rangers to 4 or 5 games. That sets it up but again, we'll see.

I can't see the Canucks making it all the way for some reason.

I wasn't that "wowed" by Howard last season and this year he has been terrible. While I think detroit will win the series (come on, they're playing phoenix) they are not winning the Cup.

Eastern Conference

1. Washington vs. 8.New York Rangers

Last year the Caps got embarrassed by the Habs last year playoffs they are hopefully that this year won't happen again.

As for the Rangers they're going to be those team that they're like "you're going have to beat use the Hard Way".

Overall: the Rangers are going to give the Caps a hard time but not like the Caps Habs series last year.

My Pick: Caps beats NYR 4-1.

2. Philadelphia vs. 7.Buffalo

Last year the Flyers went all the way to the finals now this year they got a better chance at going all the way again.

Buffalo won't make it through if there goalie does not step up

Overall: Buffalo is screwed!

My Pick: Flyers beats Buffalo 4-0

3. Boston vs. 6.Montreal

Boston blew a 3-0 series lead at the hands of the Flyers.

The Habs made it to the Conference finals only to lose in 5 games to you guess it the Flyers.

Overall: it's a tough one of these team will do anything to get payback on the Flyers more than ever.

My Pick: Boston beats the Habs 4-2

4. Pittsburgh vs. 5.Tampa Bay

This year playoff run is not going to easy as like all other playoffs were with their two key players on injured reserve.

For the first time since the RBK Edge system the Lightning are in the playoffs in hope to regain the thunder that they once had back in 2004

Overall: the Lightning has a good chance at beating the Pens but we may see some players on the Pens roster stepping up to the plate.

My Pick: Pens beats Lightning 4-3

Western Conference

1. Vancouver vs. 8.Chicago

Good News: the Canucks won the Presidents' Trophy for the First time in the team history made alot of records in everything yes they are number 1! Bad News: they're facing the Blackhawks the very team that they been losing to for the past 2 years in a row both of them in the 2nd round.

Thanks to the Salary Caps the Hawks had a tough time staying in the playoff picture they're lucky that Dallas lost that last game of the season.

Overall: As much it kills me to see the Canucks moving to the next round and finally beat the Blackhawks but I had to say the Hawks got the edge on this one an upset so to speak.

My Pick: Hawks beats the Canucks 4-3

2. San Jose vs. 7.Los Angeles

The Sharks are in good shape this year hopefully they don't play like last year.

The Kings have surprised me very good this season by making alot of key wins.

Overall: this one is going to be back and forth series.

My Pick: Sharks bites the Kings 4-2

3. Detroit vs. 6.Phoenix

A big bounce back after last year ups and downs they went through.

Good News: for the 2nd year in a row the Yotes are the playoffs. The Bad News: they facing the Wings for the 2nd year in a row.

Overall: As much it won't be Shocking to the Wings beating the Yotes nor it won't be also be Shocking to see the Yotes beating the Wings.

My Pick: Wings beats the Yotes 4-1

4. Anaheim vs. 5.Nashville

The Ducks had waddle their way back to the playoffs again the question is can they fly through the 1st round?

The Preds 6th playoffs appearance since 2004.

Overall: The Ducks have a good chance to go on to the 2nd round but I have a feeling that the Preds could make it to the 2nd round for the first time in the team's history.

My Pick: Preds beats the Ducks 4-2

If you're doing a building name change thing riff, the Coliseum doesn't really belong there, since it has not changed its name, and is not the building formerly known as GM Place.
