Without tarps or anything smallest stadium in the majors is actually Fenway Park, that and PNC Park are the only ones where the maximum capacity is under 40,000

I also love the looks of Marlins Park. I really want to go to a game there. But it doesn't look like is seats that many people, from the looks of those pictures. What's the seating capacity?

Around 37K although the official number won't be released until the park opens.

It will be the smallest ballpark in the majors in terms of total seating capacity once it opens.

Officially, the Trop still seats fewer than that.

And still has about 60% empty seats when it's anyone not from Boston or New York in town.

That's only because they tarp some of the seats.

The Trop can seat over 40K without the tarp.

Officially I think Oakland is the smallest in baseball at around 32,000, although that stadium can obviously seat alot more.

With the tarp over the third deck it holds 35,067

I just want to see what the fish tank behind home plate is going to look like.

That idea I like as a small way to give it a different flair. And it pisses off PETA as an added bonus.

Think it would be better if they had it directly behind the catcher so it would be visible during the game, but no way a team is going to give up that primo ad space.

Of course it would be better, but this is professional sports. What's better will always be overridden by what can make the owners the most money.

I was thinking something more along the lines of this:

I have to honestly say that I'm not entirely sure what's going on there. I mean that would have to be one tiny little baseball player to be that small against those tanks, and who doesn't wear a batting helmet in the on deck circle? :P

If they can build glass that can withstand a bullet and not shatter I'm sure they can build glass that can withstand a baseball without shattering.

It's a joke...

The thing is, doesn't bullet proof glass eventually fail if you hit it enough? I would assume the same principle applies to baseball.
