Twelve entries made it for Event 5.

The requirements for the Time Warp Event were:

Select one team from the defunct XFL and create a logo and a helmet fitting for the team as if it was set to join the NFL in 1970. You should use the team's color set from 2001.

  • The city and team name must remain the same.
  • You must use a 2D template for the helmet (front view and side view).
  • Include only the logo and the helmet in your submission.

List your 3 favorites, ranked 1, 2, 3.

The poll closes Thursday, October 20th, at 12:45PM Eastern Time (three days from now).

Voting for this event is now over.

Reminder

The voting will be open to public voting once the event is officially over. Once the finalists have been posted in the event thread, voting will be open for 3 days.

Judging is open to all board members registered BEFORE September 1st. This is to ensure no one is voting for themselves under an alternate login.

Members may vote once per event and may not vote for their own entry (I'll know if you did, and will not count your vote). You may not disclose the identity of any of the designers of the entries until voting closes.

Voting will be via the 3-2-1 points method. Voters will be asked to post their choice for a gold, silver and bronze winner. Gold votes are worth 3 points, Silver worth 2, Bronze worth 1.

There were some really great designs on here, but not a lot of them that looked "time-specific", I.E. the logos looked far too modern for a team debuting in 1970. Conversely, there were some great 70's-esque logos on modern helmets, which caused another visual contradiction lol. With all of that said, great job everyone...these are my three picks:

G - #8

S - #2

B - #5

i agree with robbman. designing and voting for this event was a bit strange in that i had to go against my design sensibility and vote for what i think fits the criteria best rather than what looks the best.
