pollux Posted November 4, 2011 Share Posted November 4, 2011 Seven entries will compete for medals in Event 10!The requirements for the Anniversary Patch Event were:Design a patch commemorating an event (sporting or non-sporting) that really happened in 2001, 1991, 1986,1961,1936 or 1911 (10, 20, 25, 50, 75, or 100 years ago).Include the years in the design.You may use and incorporate existing images or logos, but the overall design must be your own.List your 3 favorites, ranked 1, 2 and 3.The poll closes Monday, November 10th, at 12:30PM Eastern Time (three days from now).Voting for this event is now over.EntriesEntry #1Entry #2Entry #3Entry #4Entry #5Entry #6Entry #7ReminderThe voting will be open to public voting once the event is officially over. Once the finalists have been posted in the event thread, voting will be open for 3 days.Judging is open to all board members registered BEFORE September 1st. This is to ensure no one is voting for themselves under an alternate login.Members may vote once per event and may not vote for their own entry (I'll know if you did, and will not count your vote). You may not disclose the identity of any of the designers of the entries until voting closes.Voting will be via the 3-2-1 points method. Voters will be asked to post their choice for a gold, silver and bronze winner. Gold votes are worth 3 points, Silver worth 2, Bronze worth 1. They seemed festive or trivializing the event. I think it stems more from the fact that tragedies make for horrible anniversary patches in general than from the design themselves.Most memorial patches are either immediate or do not include a reference to time lapsed.
