Getting my lounge chair and lemonade ready to watch crackers from Shippensburg claim that the board of directors killed him by firing him.

Curty, if you don't post

Joe Paterno...YOUUUUUUUUUU'RRRRRRE FIIIIIIIIRRRRREEEEEEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [from this mortal coil]

, I'm going to feel let down.

β™« oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is goneΒ β™«

Sad, even if he was a pedo-protecting :censored:. He was a giant of the game.

Do you think Penn State will do anything to honor him? Patch on the uniforms? A moment of silence before the first game at Beaver Stadium? Nothing at all?

All I can tell you is "Rest In Peace" is one thing you will NOT be hearing from me once it happens.

They will do the minimum.

oh god.... I grew up watching Paterno coach against Ohio State and since I'm an a Ohio State fan, I root for the Buckeyes. But on every saturday that JoePa coaches, I root for Penn State. Heartbreaking for me to see him go like this... I trying to think of words to say, but I can't. I hope Penn State realizes what they have done and honor JoePa since he is a campus, and no to mention, nation legend. Sad to see him go out like this... oh god..oh god... :(

As the piece in the New York Times shows, they know full well what they've done, which was to remove the longtime enabler of a serial child rapist. If you're insinuating that they expedited his death by not letting him coach college football anymore, you're out of your mind, oh god, oh god, oh god.

oh god....

I'm trying to come up with other serial enablers of child abuse that also look like kindly old teddy bears, but this is best I can do:

People would have an easier time disliking Paterno if he didn't look like a garden gnome.

Every time I see his face, "After Forever" by Black Sabbath runs through my head...

To be fair John Paul II was more of an enabler than Benedict XVI.

Joe Paterno (1926-2012)

His time on this Earth was far too short to ever hear of "rape and a man".
