Another interesting article about Oregon... they just admitted to committing recruiting violations.

Man, I bet Chip Kelly wishes he took the Bucs job now, huh?

Says the man who cheers for Terry Bowden's SEC retread NCAA malefactor roadshow.

We have both Terry Bowden and Jim Tressel on the schools payroll. Your point?

Because a few carpools to practice and a couple dollars here and there for Taco Bell is equal to dropping $25,000 for Willie Lyles' services?

I hope Akron wins more that 7 games for once in its miserable Division I-A existence if they are going to cheat this badly.

You manage to balance agitation with just enough salient points to keep things interesting. Kind of a low-rent DG_Now.

If I was an NC State football season ticket holder, I would demand a lowering of prices in 2012:
South Alabama
The Citadel
Florida State
Virginia
Wake Forest
Boston College

They are still transitioning-they are playing a full I-A schedule, but are classified as I-AA.

No. Trust me, he doesn't. Coaching a college program that's on probation and banned from bowl games is still WAY better than having to coach the Bucs. Hell, coaching SMU in 1987 and 1988 would be more productive than working for Malcolm Glazer.

An Aggie conspiracy?

There will not be a female Yell Leader at Texas A&M.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas ? Samantha Ketcham?s quest to become Texas A&M?s first female yell leader ended abruptly Wednesday when the university?s election commission said no runoff would be needed after it discovered a vote-tabulation error. Ketcham was hoping to be elected to the five-member group, which A&M has instead of cheerleaders and has always been comprised of men at the formerly all-male military institution. Yell leaders are among the most visible students on campus.

The commission released results Tuesday night that showed Nelson Ingram had been elected senior yell leader, with Ketcham and three other students facing a runoff for the two remaining positions. A day later, the commission said "the percentages were tabulated incorrectly" and that Drew Nelson and Hunter Skoog had won the other two spots.

"I?m disappointed that there won?t be a runoff, but happy for the people who won," Ketcham said soon after learning the news.

While all the yell leaders are male, a majority of them are also members of Texas A&M?s military organization that includes about 2,100 students in The Corps of Cadets. About 200 students in that group are women.

Ketcham, who was one of two women running for the position this year, received 22 percent of the 14,580 votes cast. Though she finished fifth out of six candidates, she thought her showing was encouraging since she isn?t a member of either group that normally wins the positions.

"I knew it was a very long shot in the first place as a non-(Corps member) and a female," she said.

Texas A&M was founded in the 1870s and women were allowed only after a court fight in the 1960s. Much has changed at this campus of more than 45,000 since then and 46.6 percent of its current enrollment is female.

Despite the change in the makeup of the student body, some aren?t quite ready to see some of the university?s long-held traditions end. An all-female dance team has been a recognized student organization since the mid-1990s and performs at men?s and women?s basketball games, but isn?t allowed to set foot on Kyle Field, where the football team plays.

An editorial in The Battalion, Texas A&M?s student newspaper, had urged voters to "preserve all-male yell leader tradition." Tim Bardin, a senior finance major who wrote the piece, said he believes the dance team should be kept away from football games and that yell leaders should always be men.

"If we allow the dance team on Kyle Field, or a woman to hold the position of yell leader just to get with the times and modernize, how are we different than any other school in the nation," he wrote. "If we allow one, what is to stop the other from happening?"

Ketcham isn?t worried about people who think a woman should never be a yell leader.

"The outpouring of support has been huge and overwhelming," she said. "I?ve received hundreds of notifications on Facebook since the election."

The NCAA can't really punish Oregon though. It would cost too many universities free Nike swag.

If you invite one Arizona football player to a party, you had better invite them all.

Or else they will punch you in the face like the fine, upstanding citizens they are.

For the first time since Kyle Field expanded in the late 90's, Texas A&M has sold out season tickets for the upcoming season. Pretty big deal for them.

Damn. That has to be at least 20 players totally exit the Maryland program since Edsall came on board. Kind of odd.

Way to go Montana! Player conduct forces firing of both AD and HC.

They are sure acting like a FBS school.

Arizona State University Announces New Look For Sun Devil Stadium
Posted ImagePosted Image

Patterson and Graham met with media, fans and staff on Wednesday to share some of the basics of the revitalized stadium in addition to some of the initial renderings of the updated and upgraded stadium, which will remain in its iconic location in between the Buttes in Tempe.

The renderings are not finalized, but the tentative plan would create a shade canopy over the stadium that will allow the passage of natural light and the passage of air into the stadium while also allowing the Sun Devils to play day games earlier in the year to accommodate Pac-12 Network obligations.

The addition of the shade canopy, in addition to other alterations, will decrease seating to an area between 55,000 and 65,000 seats. As such, larger seats will be provided with more leg room and the potential of more seats with a seat back.

The stadium will be updated with a state-of-the-art sound system, video board and scoreboards, and ADA amenities and features.
----
The cost of the stadium has not been determined at this time. There are also two different options available for the build: one that would allow the team and fans to stay in Sun Devil Stadium during construction or another that would move ASU out of the stadium for a season or two that would allow time to complete the project faster. The stadium can be built in up to five stages, but a timetable has not been establish as yet.

Shade? Seat backs? Improved amenities?

Thank Jesus.
