Well, if the Astros wanted to do something a little different, I'd like to see them add some Dark Gray to their classic Orange/Blue scheme. Using the New Era By You site and the current logo, I whipped this up to see what a hat could look like:

Or, if they went with an Orange/Red/Dark Gray Look:

That said, I'd love to see at awesome H/A/Star all-in-one logo; someone needs to dig it up.

EDIT: I dug it up--it's right here.

Grey hats sound unique, but I don't think there's been a single instance where it's looked good.

IMO, the ONLY time the Blue Jays last set looked good was with the graphite cap.

I think a grey hat with a road grey uniform would look bad, but if a team at home wore grey socks, caps, and undershirts, that's a look that could potentially work.

Meanwhile, Crane and the Astros have about a month to submit new uniform designs to Major League Baseball. The Astros have had focus groups with fans to gauge new uniform designs, and it certainly appears the club will have a new look when it begins play in the American League in 2013...

“We’re leaning very heavily towards it and I’d be surprised if we didn’t change.”

Its all but official now. Change is coming for the Astros in 2013.

why don't any MLB teams have contrasting airholes like this one you made? I see lots of it on the highschool level and some college. But never at the big league level.

Because this ISN'T high school or college.

This, plus infinity. I despise the current Texas Longhorn's set based on all of the above.

The point

You

High school and college looks tend to look amateurish. THAT was the point.

Send that to the MLB offices. it is awesome. the logos are done with great percision, the unis are just glowing and the whole set is a beauty.
In the last game against Detroit, the time from ten minutes left to one minute left was probably the longest nine minutes of my life. But from one to zero was probably the greatest time I've ever had. I didn't want the clock to run out. It was such a great feeling: people crying in the stands, people jumping up and down, people cheering. Guys couldn't even sit up on the bench. It was probably the best minute of my life.
Cody, Remember your tracking sheet!

Thank you for putting that up again. Best concept I've seen on CCSLC.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Just for the heck of it, the other three uniforms in the set:

It's a great concept, to say the least. Not sure completely how I feel about it being used. The numbers do seem just a little to 'squared-off blocky'. Maybe a tweak to those. I do love the solid navy and white wordmarks with just the orange 'ring'. Simple yet awesome.

That concept looks fantastic. I would like to see more than one cap though, possibly a navy crown/orange bill cap. I think a solid orange cap is a bit of a stretch. And here's a daring idea--and I know some people will want to shoot me for this--I think a navy crown/white front panel/orange bill would look great.
