What I am most curious about is whether they will get the large numbers with no names correct on the back of the jersey...

It looks like they got the font correct, based on what Beltin' Bill is wearing in the promo picture. The front numbers look a bit small, so I wouldn't be surprised if they wind up with standard-sized numbers on the back, too. Wait and see, though.

"The Sox got the number font correct when they wore those '83 throwbacks again in 2008. I wouldn't be surprised if these had no names on the jerseys, as the '17(01) and '06(2006) throwbacks they wore had no names. However, I don't think they will use the big numbers. We are lucky enough these aren't pullovers, which shouls spare us from Majestic's ridiculous "collar down to the nipple, elbow length sleeves" template.

Yeah, I got a Crede '08 throwback authentic for Christmas, and the sleeves are huge - then again, it's not like I'm built like an athlete, so it may just be my skinny arms. The collar isn't too bad, though.

Maybe you happened to get a good one. All the Majestic pullover throwbacks worn on the field seem to have really sloppy, low collars. Just look as Swisher here. Of course, on the actual '83 jerseys, the v-neck collar was pretty snug against the neck. There were several inches between the red stripe and the collar.

This is the one I got:

FWIW that's not an authentic, it's a replica. That might be the difference.

Surprisingly, the Majestic throwback replicas seem to be a lot better than the authentics when it comes to sizing. The authentic pullovers have consistently been one size bigger than marked, while the replicas are more spot on. The baggier cut of the authentics skews the accuracy of the reproductions.

So the White Sox will have pretty much the same uni...in their black/silver colors, in red throwbacks, and in green 1/2 way to st. patty's unis?

Too bad the Rangers only play one series next year in Chicago, and it's during the weekdays. Otherwise, the Rangers could wear that old '76 powder blue beauty.

And as shown earlier in the thread, the Sox have a blue version (sans pinstripes) in their arsenal. They should trot that out for one day a year, find a reason to make a yellow one and go with a pinwheel-scoreboard theme.

Actually, I've been thinking red would work its way back into the Sox look for quite some time, but I like this option better. They wear a uni that has so many earlier versions that they might as well take advantage. Personally, I like the original Sunday uni from 2001.

TOO BLUE

but seriously that was a pretty good uniform, you just can't use that shade of blue

I would love to time warp "men's men" like John Wayne or General Patton to 2012 and take them out on the town.

The White Sox sure did experiment a lot with colors in the 70's. To me, the blue and red eras are ones that need to be locked away forever. The mid 80's ones can stay though ... I think they're nostalgic in a good way.
