CS85
Am I the only one who gets excited for baseball season, loves the first week of the year, then is pretty much indifferent? Or is this just a Cubs fan thing. Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board. Ndfreek12
After a disappointing Bears season, it'll be nice to watch a disappointing Sox season. Kramerica Industries
Whereas football and hockey are strong addictions, baseball is basically a disease for me.Once the season starts, I basically have to watch my team every night. The only times this doesn't happen are when there are unavoidable schedule conflicts, or I'm sick and tired physically and miss them because of that. The off-season, therefore, saves me from myself. GriffinM6
As for myself, I finally have high hopes that my team can win a division title. 2012 is going to be a great year. Hopefully by Mid-September, I'll be able to purchase a "Miami Marlins 2012 NL East Champions" t-shirt.
FiddySicks
I'm the type of person who, like Kamerica, almost never misses my team's games. I miss baseball every single day during the off season. Giants Fan Fest is this Saturday, and I'll be there! HedleyLamarr
So the Braves follow up their September collapse by....making no real moves. They're paying Lowe to pitch for Cleveland and finally rid themselves of McClouth. They'll be alright if folks don't get hurt. And if Jason Heyward remembers how to hit the ball. And Chipper doesn't, like, die.
pmoehrin
This just in the New York Mets have clinched last place.Pretty much. Team is now taking out loans to pay off other loans. If that isn't a sign your in hard times financially I don't know what is.Those minority owners the Wilpons keep harping about are probably never coming either. I can't see anyone buying into a team that has over $1 billion in debt without wanting some kind of guaranteed capital as collateral (ie. more control over the Mets if the Wilpons default on a payment.) Can't see anyone trusting them with $5 let alone a few million. The only good news is I don't think the Wilpons are lasting the season as Mets owners. The team will probably have to file for bankruptcy protection by June at this rate, in which case the Wilpons will have no choice but to sell. The only real is that the Wilpons don't try to do what Frank McCourt did. Sell team assets for quick cash. Biggest asset the Mets have is SNY. I can see the Wilpons trying to sell it off in order to get some quick cash then try to sell the team. That I would say Bud Selig and the MLB front office needs to keep an eye on big time. FiddySicks
I'm still dreaming of an all-Florida World Series. Make it happen!I think there are many people, Bud Selig, the executives at Fox, the rest of the country, ect, who would collectively die of a heart attack if that were to happen. I think CSPAN would get better ratings than a Rays Marlins World Series. Not saying I'd be fully against that happening, and I'd watch every game, but man would that be a tough sell. I miss baseball every single day during the off season. Giants Fan Fest is this Saturday, and I'll be there! Here's how bad I am. I have MLB Extra Innings. We also have both Direct TV and digital cable in our house. I have two TVs in the downstairs living room and I have baseball games on both of them. Yeah, I kinda like baseball. February 20th can't get here soon enough.
