FiddySicks
I was a red seat guy when I lived there and every time I've been back. Guess I won't be back. Kidding, but I do feel the pastel seats are too dull or muted. Either way feels like Dodger Stadium to me, though. And the top level store was great, as was the parking up there. I've never seen the rest of the park, though. It was there when I was last there, but that was in 06 or 07. And I gotta say, that team store is probably one of the best I've ever seen. The selection of authentic player jerseys they had was outstanding. It was really strange seeing a store stocked with authentic jerseys of almost the entire roster and not getting excited at all On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) DG_ThenNowForever
I've never been to Dodger Stadium, but it's at the top of my of ball parks I want to visit. Their teams may be good or bad, but the Dodgers are an awesome franchise. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
nmsuaggie
The only thing I miss about watching games at Dodger Stadium on TV was that Hispanic guy in the hat holding the radar gun behind home plate.....Mike Brito was an icon to Dodger games along with Tommy Lasorda and Vin Sculley. Too bad he was a victim of automatic radar guns and luxury boxes. I do have one complaint of Dodger stadium. I've been there once and I didn't like the fact that you are not allowed to walk around the entire park. If you have second deck seats you are not going to be able to make your way down or over to the outfield. Go Aggies!
Gothamite
You couldn't walk all the way around County Stadium, either. The bleacher sections were separate from the rest of the seating bowl, as they are in Dodger Stadium. Never bothered me all that much. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. Never bothered me all that much.Well when I was a kid I'd like to get there early, go down to the field level to watch BP, and then take a stroll before the game started. Once the game starts yeah you don't need to be able to walk around and whatnot, but if you were stuck to one area before the game that would have sucked. The Mets would let you onto the field level at Shea no matter what your ticket said until BP was over and then you had to leave at which point if you didn't have a field level ticket you could only get as far down as the Loge Level. pmoehrin
I've never been to Dodger Stadium but I've always imagined it as a cookie cutter stadium that was not multipurpose. The stadium itself just seems to be pretty featureless and very basic. You have a very scenic backdrop beyond the outfield, but that's about it. Here's your parking spot, here's your seat, here's the game. Which is fine with though. I don't really need a ton of bells and whistles to keep me happy.I would probably be complaining more about getting there which I've heard is an absolute nightmere. You basically have to drive unless your coming from Chinatown, but that I blame more on LA's terrible infrastructure (thank you GM and all the wonderful benefits of privatizing public transit) then anything else. For where it's located it should be that big of an issue getting there.

I don't really need a ton of bells and whistles to keep me happy. This is pretty accurate. It's not necessarily a positive or negative thing though. If you really love the sport, then it's a fantastic place to watch it. Maybe the best I've been to. It's probably not the best place to take a date, or go with a ton of your buddies, or go as part of a "night out", but it just has this "pure" quality to it that's refreshing. I'm not a big enough fan of the sport to go there 20+ times per year if I lived there, but it's certainly great for some people. I really enjoy the party atmosphere of some of the newer ballparks (obviously I'm specifically talking about CBP but that's because that's the one I go to 20+ times/year), but I also enjoy the nostalgia and quirkiness of a Wrigley (been there several times), the pure-'60s baseball feeling of a Dodger stadium, and the views of a PNC. Fenway was just a dump though. "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." RETROJR79
I get what you saing Dodgers Stadium is beautiful but the seats looked boring and I would love to see them bring back the scoreboard that was right next to the dugout and get rid of the ivy youre not Wrigley Field!! Cujo
I'll be making my first (dreaded) Dodger Stadium visit tomorrow for a matinee game versus the D-Backs. So from what I've gathered, the parking is an absolute nightmare and the fans can be total pricks. On the plus-side, seats only cost 48¢ apiece, and if things get out of hand with the Dodger faithful, Bucfan will be present bring order to the situation. (Best photo I can find of it) Shame they never bothered to bring it back in the renovation. Not quite as bad as MSG removing the Willis Reed tunnel with their renovation, but still not good. The bullpen ivy doesn't bother me too much. There may be some better options out there, but its still an upgrade over just staring at some aluminum paneling. As long as it doesn't overtake the whole stadium, I can't say its a negative. I know with McCourts renovation plan they were calling for alot more plants and trees outside the stadium which I would be in favor of.Its just tough to do much with the place because its built into the ground, and you need all of those parking spots because there's really no other way of getting to the stadium outside of driving there for most people. Fenway was just a dump though. When was the last time you went? Since the renovations it's a far better stadium I've found. A lot of the old crumbling infrastructure and interesting smells are gone replaced by open air bars and more concessions. As for Dodger Stadium being like a multipurpose stadium, I guess from the perspective of being dedicated to the game. But beyond that it shares little with its contemporaries beyond a concrete construction. The sight lines are vastly superior, it's not a claustrophobic mess like most multipurpose stadiums. It definitely isn't one of the new parks, but it's also not like the multipurpose parks. Though to be fair it's also not as nice an overall baseball park as it's near neighbor in Anaheim is either. That was actually the most pleasant time I've ever had at a Dodgers game. Got in and out of the parking lots quicker than ever before, wore my Giants gear and only got hastled once as were leaving the stadium, and even that was playful, and the Dodgers lost! Cujo
Pros from today's day game at Dodger Stadium:The stadium was only 1/3rds full.Parking wasn't a total nightmare. The view of Los Angeles from the stadium is immaculate. Arizona won.Cons:The heat.THE HEAT.How overrated and overpriced the Dodger Dog is.Bucfan wearing a bright-ass orange Giants shirt, thus the threat of attracting a**hole Dodger fans (and security) to chime in and heckle us.Overall, it's a pretty average ballpark with a handful of annoying fans (thought I know I went on a good day). Not sure if I ever see myself returning like I would for stadiums like AT&T Park or Chase Field.
