2013 MLB Logo and Uniform Changes

Recommended Posts

Going back and forth between the 2012 and 2013 Reds road uniforms, I don't notice anything different aside from the back name and number shrinking in size and the pants piping getting slightly thicker. I can confirm, however, that the Reds' red has gotten darker.

Not sure what they will designate it as, but that new Mets cap is part of the regular Authentic Collection. Here it work it is listed the same as all the other on-field caps.

Sorry if this has been posted previously, but the Pirates unveiled their new Sunday Alternate look today.

Wow, I haven't even heard about a new Pirates alternate. I am a fan. The gold cap is definitely the best part. As others have said above, I miss their vests too. That Clemente picture is perfect. The quintessential Pirates look.

I miss their sunday vests.

Their primary home and road uniforms in the last set were vests. The only "Sunday vest" they've had was the stupid and pointless pinstriped one they wore for a few years. They also had a horrific red vest they wore on Friday nights a few years back.

im so glad they're using the gold hats again

they wore them a few years ago to honor Clemente and it looked great.

btw is that an actual new jersey based on the throwbacks or just a throwback like the Twins use, for example

"Sundays will have a throwback feel all season long at PNC Park in 2013, as the Pirates on Friday introduced a new alternate home uniform that is an update of a classic uniform first introduced in 1970 and worn by the '71 Pirates World Series championship team. For each Sunday home game next season, the Pirates will don new mustard gold caps and a pullover-style jersey. The front of the jersey has "Pirates" scrolled across the chest in black lettering, outlined in mustard gold, as well as each player's number below the lettering on the left side of the jersey. The collar, sleeves and waistband of the pants will have black, white and mustard gold piping. These updated jerseys, unlike the ones worn in the 1970s, will include player names on the back to go along with the numbers. This will be the only change to the Pirates' uniform lineup in 2013, as the home white, road gray and black alternate uniforms will all remain the same."

New Pirates BP Cap from the unveiling:

It's essentially a gold-billed version of their current alternate cap. The Pirates now have 4 caps.

hmm same style as the Mets new alt cap, alternate colored bill with white outlined logo.

Perhaps that's how the BP caps will be styled?

No - some of them will be somewhat surprising.

(That's all I'll say.)

Are they the same material as the current game caps?

And does this mean we'll be getting the All Star BP caps in 59Fifty as well?! :jawdrop:
