BadSeed84
The only 2 changed that the reds should do is remove any black and have a vest option!
FiddySicks
A poster - an MLB employee - on the New Era forum confirmed a change in BP caps for all teams in 2013, including some combination of 3930s and 5950s.Yes thats correct the players want a fitted cap not a flex fitGood riddance to the ugly overpiped 3930's! Hopefully the teams get creative with the new BP 5950's like they did with the old ones.If they make the BP caps a 59Fifty in the current cool base materials, I'm going to be absolutely broke. Even broker than I am right now. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Gothamite
Guys that Marlins anniversary patch that was posted is a concept made by Patchez. So he's getting married? Sheesh, I'm so confused. CubsFanBudMan
No guesses on the Reds change yet?I've seen the Reds changes and I absolutely hate them -- in my opinion, clearly the worst move of the off-season (out of what I've been shown)This really scares me. I hoped maybe they'd go back to the Big Red Machine minimalism (especially love the gray roadies of which I picked up a MItchell & Ness 76 Concepcion this summer at TJ Maxx), but this makes me think they'll put the cursive "Reds" on the chest, the one they've put behind home plate and use on BPs, then add some extra black, or add the Mr. Redlegs pillbox hat, or bring back the vests and pinstripes, or add a few more layers of shadowing on the numbers, or, or, or...just stop it! The Reds should be one of the traditionally dressed teams if they want to trumpet their long history loosely associated with the original Red Stockings. What. Are. They. Doing?I guess there's only one thing we can do: Hope the Reds win the whole freaking thing. (And decide to cancel the downgrade because of it.) The current set isn't perfect, but was a big step in the right direction.
TheRevTy
Regarding the Rays new cap:As has been stated, if we have indeed "seen these before," there are really only a few options.Caps worn during the "Rays" era (this is assuming they wouldn't embrace a cap from the "Devil Rays" time period):All navy, white TB with columbia shadow - current primarySt. Pete Pelicans throwback - current management's desire to move to Tampa would make any variation of these unlikelyPlaid Braysers hat - still incredibly popular, still sold in stadium, and there is still a New Era ad featuring the plaid in the outfield. Seems most likely. There is still a lot of plaid merchandise sold overall.Tampa Tarpons throwback - Again, seems unlikelyFauxback - a hilariously creative promotion, quite popular, but would look ridiculous w/ current uniforms. If they're only adding a hat, unlikely.Spring Training all columbia hat - would this count as "seen it before"?Otherwise, to my knowledge, they haven't worn any other hats in this era. My money is on the plaid, and that they had a 2 year waiting period between introducing them (2010) and fully employing them. It would be incredibly unique, but not obnoxiously so. It would really give them something to own.
Braden
It's pretty clear to me with the Reds script on postseason gear and painted in the grass that they're trying to phase it in.That's gotta be the home script if they're changing their uniforms. Jungle Jim
If the Reds start using that awful script logo as a primary, I will puke. I never understood it in the first place.
The_Admiral
I don't mind the script as a BP/ST thing (I'd also like the Tigers to use their underused "Tigers" script on BP/STs and jackets), but the C-REDS is classic, and the script, well, it's BRUSH SCRIPT. Fine for when things don't count, unacceptable for when they do. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Billy B
Yeah, I'm guessing that the Reds script will be featured prominently in the Reds new uniforms. That's too bad because I think most people would agree they got it right with their last redesign with the exception of the road caps.
jigokusabre
My wish list:1. Marlins use orange caps with black alts and home jersey2. Marlins replace the black BP jerseys and ease up on the black alts. 3. Marlins change the piping on the black alts to orange, blue or yellow. The Mojo Maniac
Do any teams' alternate jerseys have the city name, rather than the team name? I thought it would be cool if the Orioles put "Baltimore" on their black alternate. That way you've got 2 "Orioles" and 2 "Baltimore" jerseys.Yet not on the actual grey Alt. Better be coming this offseasonThe Red Sox, Rangers, Braves, Marlins, and Rockies also have alternates with location name rather than team name. The Mariners have (seldom used) dark blue alt they only wear on the road with "Seattle" written across the front. They actually wear those during almost every road series. Only once per series, though. They never have, and hopefully never will, pull a move like the White Sox or Rangers by wearing it back-to-back-to-back every so often. From San Berdoo to Kalamazoo. The font the Vikings use now would be perfect, actually. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
erlovepuck
I hadn't previously heard of the Mets doing a blue home and road alt for next year. Now I'm wondering how they will execute these. The assumption would be just the normal wordmarks in orange outlined in white but given that they did the "Los Mets" jerseys with white lettering outlined in orange might they be doing that with the home alt and the opposite for the road alt? I'd love to see Mr. Met make it on as a sleeve patch. Any chance of a new alt cap? The last season they only had one cap in their set was the year before the good old ice cream man cap was introduced with the snow white alt. NDwas
Don't fret, Reds fans. In fact, one of the changes I had seen before has suddenly vanished from the style sheet. Tomorrow's just your future yesterday.
Sport
It'll be a huge mistake if they take the Creds logo off the left breast. They've worn that logo on the chest of their home jerseys for longer than most teams have been teams and the number being directly opposite the logo (not on the lower right) is their thing. It's bad enough they wear that script on the BP's, it'll be a disaster if it jumps to the regular season uniforms. This is what I'd have them wear.
