rtrich11
I did this logo quite some time ago, but never posted it on here. Now that we know, or think we know, that an update to the Vikings is coming up, I thought I’d show it before it got compared with the new one somehow as derivative, etc. This logo is a reaction to what they have now.I was trying to do a number of things with this concept: Created something less vertical, put more purple in it, use the horn from the current helmet, make it more bold, and hopefully get it tougher. Even after all that I still kept him blonde, but darkened his mustache and added a beard. And the braids… All they did was clutter the image, as they do now. They didn’t help, so I cut them off. cafepress.com/artbyrichards
St Louis Cardinals
erase the line between the chin and the shoulder. other than that looks good! #9 LSU vs. TCU
dmhtfld
I agree with what St Louis Cardinals said also either erase or enlarge the small lines in the horn. Other than that this is a really good looking logo.
jakemon08
If you're going to have the hair blonde, why make the mustache a thick purple line? Speaking of the hair, I'm not really even sure what's going on with it.
FFWally
concur... know the Viking fan base would lose it but this would look nice on a helmet. Fictional History of the SFAF
bradsbeard
Not sure if intentional, but the yellow in the hair almost makes an "M."
dsaline97
The current horn looks forced on and doesn't seem to match the rest of the logo, so id consider drawing your own instead. And I can figure out whats going on with the hair there, either.
Greg_Fryman
I believe alot of the issues would be eliminated if that little patch of white for the neck was colored purple. Very solid logo in my opinion.
hugevolsfan
I believe this is a very good start. The issues with the hair & mustache to me need to be addressed.I think the mustache needs some highlights at least of gold if nothing else & the hair need some refinement.I think it would be a very good logo then but I would not think the Vikings would go that route. steff002
Wait, wait, wait. You mentioned at the beginning that you have a feeling or "we think we know" there's a re-brand coming. Where is this info coming from?
rtrich11
steff002, the rumor mill has a buzz going. No one has seen anything though. And thanks for your comments, everyone else. cafepress.com/artbyrichards
VikingBen
The logo needs eyes. Fierce eyes would look great.
jaha32
The logo needs eyes. Fierce eyes would look great.I agree with all the above comments except the addition of eyes. To me, just having shadows over the eyes makes human logos more intimidating, mysterious, and less approachable. What is strange is that you have the eye socket but no eye. Leave the eye out abd bend the cheeck bone upward and it should be an improvement. DesignsByHahn.com Behance Dribbble Instragram
shoresidejake
Remember this will most likely be the team that did the Jaguars & Dolphins new logo.I think it looks great so far.

Are you meaning to turn the rounded shape under the eye and flex it upward instead? cafepress.com/artbyrichards
jaha32
Are you out of your mind Jaha32? How can the logo look good with no eyes.VikingBen, relax. Have you ever seen the NE Patriots logo? A logo doesn't need the actual eye to be visible to give the impression that an eye is still there. There are thousands of logos with no eyes, just the eye socket shadow. here are just a few links to human logos with no eyes, but just eye socket shadows.http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/y71myf8mlwlk8lbgagh3fd5e0/New_England_Patriots/2000/Primary_Logohttp://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/2etorchfbjqbvgsoiied0rqkf/Providence_Friars/2000/Primary_Logohttp://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/06g72pwnt3y8ba3pb4wvlded3/Duquesne_Dukes/2007/Primary_Logohttp://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/2vggzg8fholnbv4umcp5h1459/NJIT_Highlanders/2006/Primary_Logohttp://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/2683/NC-Greensboro_Spartans/2001/Primary_Logortrich11, you are right. I mean to turn the rounded shape under the eye upward or at least straigh across to make the cheekbone more pronounced. Maybe it doesn't have to be curved upward, but just not curved so downward. VikingBen
Oh I see. Allot of teams don't have logos with eyes so it makes it more different and more attractive.
bleuet
I like the concept but would be sad the current helmet would disappear. You would'nt change the Rams helmet or the Chargers helmet (or Bengals, Eagles) . They are different and historic. There's already lots of logos on side helmets. But the concept is nice.
