I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Bama get the threepeat as Saban's last hurrah before he gives the NFL another try.

Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (CHL - 2018 Orr Cup Champions) Chicago Rivermen (UBA/WBL - 2014, 2015, 2017 Intercontinental Cup Champions)

King's Own Hexham FC (BIP - 2022 Saint's Cup Champions) Portland Explorers (EFL - Elite Bowl XIX Champions) Real San Diego (UPL) Red Bull Seattle (ULL - 2018, 2019, 2020 Gait Cup Champions) Vancouver Huskies (CL)

In his defense, I started the 2012 thread on January 22nd.

WHY?!

Agreed, shouldn't we have a few months before we create a thread

I read the "WHY?!" as more of a comment on the statement on Saban getting another title before returning to the NFL, as opposed to the 2013 thread.

FWIW, the National Signing Day for football is February 6 and we know that some members will be posting about 16 yo junior commit or 17/18 yo senior which they have not seen a d@mn play of....just the "hat derby" or whatever gimmick/bit from the ESPNU studios in Charlotte. Not that large a leap to start a thread for 2013 today, especially since another non-sports board I frequent, somebody started one on 12/12/12.

16 year old juniors can't sign until next year...

And I think most people that actually pay attention to and comment on recruiting have actually seen these guys play.

With only 10 members, the Big XII wants the NCAA to allow the conference a Conference Championship Game

They aren't going to have 10 members for long.

So in the space of a few days Major Applewhite could go from Texas Longhorns folk hero to "guy who toppled the entire goddamn Texas athletic department a week before signing day."

Those of you who had Mack Brown being sacked before Rick Barnes was, please prepare to collect your winnings.

/That's nobody.

Why would anyone besides Major be fired for this? Besides he was already punished over 3 years ago.

Because the Board of Regents may have just found out about this and oh yeah you guys just fired your very successful black lesbian women's track coach for having an improper relationship with a student athlete and she's currently suing the school for discrimination.

I know about the women's track coach situation. This situation is different because he has already been punished for it, has been to counseling, and all of the other coaches knew about this. With the track coach, she had waited for about 12 years before coming out with the information.

He was punished in house privately. If the people holding the purse strings at Texas just found out about this, they are not going to look upon the incident, or how it was handled, favorably. Especially considering Applewhite's paygrade.

It looks like the effects of having a playoff committee that looks at SOS is starting to come into place.

Who will 'Bama play in another lifeless, meaningless national title game?

Probably Stanford or Ohio State, both of which will lose to Bama.

While 'max' tried to give is a load of :censored:ty information...we have no clue on who would want to be vetted to be a part of the future playoff committee or who would want to be a part of said committee. The NCAA basketball committee has to pick the approx. 30 teams, but football just has to pick FOUR.

Being among that committee is something something which will have more pressure than SCOTUS.
