Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy. Sodboy13
Here's as good a place as any to remind everyone of the (apocryphal?) story that, once the NHL moved to computerized records, it couldn't figure out how to make "0" or "00" work in its system. So it banned the numbers.Three-digit numbers (1nn) show up quite a bit in Japanese baseball, and I'm pretty sure I've seen them in Mexican soccer on occasion. illwauk
Johnny Neves of the Fargo-Moorehead Twins had a surname that spelled "seven" backwards and wore an appropriate number.Haha this has turned into "Who wears "0" or "00" thread"I tried to quarantine that on the last page... sadly, people don't understand those numbers are far more common in certain sports (mainly basketball and baseball) than others. chakfu
Jim Otto of the Oakland Raiders wore Ot-Oh.LeCharles Bentley requested 00 for the same reason when he signed with the Browns. I believe the league turned him down, and that Otto himself did not appreciate the sentiment and was kind of an ass about it (racially motivated? Pure speculation on my point.) Anyway, we all remember how this one became a moot point and a typical classic chapter in Cleveland sports history.I can't believe no one has mentioned the chief for 00. Has any team ever SIMULTANEOUSLY had a '0' and '00'? The Celtics have had numerous '0's since Parish's number was retired (Walter McCarty, Leon Powe, currently Avery Bradley)
