Here's a couple of RGB-optimized versions of the Texas A&M marks:

Like I said - I've got boatloads of these things..

However - note the lack of the pipe...I wonder if the College Vault guys (who vectorized all of these graphics) needed to remove references to smoking or something...

Since the term "clip art" seems to be getting so much play in the last few days, I think we've hit upon something...

Auburn U.:

I think it's pretty obvious that there were standard "template" logos created back in the day, and schools just modified the artwork to match the identity.

I've seen this with the "wolfpack" marks used by North Carolina State and Nevada (Reno) as well.
