This is going to effect football as well, right?

Because I don't know what sense it would make having San Diego State in the Big East.

Especially since the Aztecs are staying in the Mountain West.

The old Big East (aka, all of the football schools left + joining) are the AAC. San Diego, Boise State and whoever else from the MWC that was going to join are no longer doing so. The Big East will be all of the basketball members who didn't play football (aka, the Catholic schools) plus 3 other non-football schools.

NCFA-FCS/CBB: Minnesota A&M | RANZBA (OOTP): Auckland Warriors | USA: Front Range United | IFA: Toverit Helsinki | FOBL: Kentucky Juggernaut

Minnesota A&M 2012 National Champions 2013 National Finalist, 2014 National Semi-finals 2012, 2013, 2014 Big 4 Conference Champions

Oh, that's right. I forgot they're staying.

.... kinda lost touch with what's going on with the MWC since TCU left.

Maybe they will emphasize "American" over AAC to avoid confusion. The American Athletic Conference or The American for short.

With the ACC letters generally either in blue against a white background or white against a blue background, would reversing the colors on your logo, putting the AAC against red help differentiate between the two conferences? Like the ACC would be the "blue" conference and the "AAC" the red one? I think the initials will confuse people if they're seen close to each other in the same color, but if one is always either in red or against a red background, it might help establish the identity.
