Billy B
I'm headed to New York in two weeks. I'd love to have been able to see an NYCFC game, but I might just settle for picking up a scarf. They've got a really nice brand.I'd love it if their home kits were unique. Their road might be my favorite shirt in the league and I really like their crest. And I'm not sure what to make of the "no thirds" rumors. I mean, the Fire introduced their third really, really late last season.
Gothamite
What's in question is whether the two new expansion teams can introduce thirds in their first season. I've been told "no" by someone in the chain, and recent precedent would seem to supoort that. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. BlazerBlaze
I don't think that's in question. That's been the league policy going back to the Seattle expansion.
Gothamite
Go back a page. That's exactly the question we've been asking. And although it was verbally confirmed to me, I can't find any documentation that's (still) league policy. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. BlazerBlaze
Its the MLS, you won't find documentation for any league policy. The question as I understood it was if MLS was eliminating all 3rd jerseys not their policy on new teams and 3rd jerseys. Gothamite
Nobody thinks they want to eliminate thirds entirely; a Red Bulls exec stated that they wanted to minimize them ("move away from" was I think the phrase). But you're right; MLS isn't exactly a model of transparency.
