andycumbee19 441 Posted May 22, 2013 Orange Crush Broncos taking on the Jaguars in the 1996 playoffs.I remember this game not because it was only Jacksonville's second season and they weren't supposed to do as well as they did but because some lineman for the Broncos (I don't even necessarily remember if it was offensive or defensive) didn't get off the field in time before the next play started, costing them a penalty very late in the game. Now that I'm thinking about it, I believe it was a defensive lineman and this was during Jacksonville's last scoring drive that put the game out of reach for Denver. What I remember vividly was 1) how orange the guy's uniform looked as he was walking off the field, even in artificial light; and 2) the broadcasters laying into the lineman calling him lazy, etc. for not getting off the field fast enough. (Admittedly, he did walk off the field; he didn't hustle at all and Mark Brunell was quick enough on the snap to get a penalty out of it.)Michael Dean Perry.... and I've still not forgiven him. He's my Bill Buckner/ Steve Bartman

Sadly, mainly Super Bowl heartbreak is associated with those.

That's probably why photos from this game have never looked as "weird" to me as the Panthers-Broncos ones from 1995(?).

DrizzyDrew1523 11 Posted May 23, 2013 It's sad that one team has two completely different uniforms that are so great. I'd love to see a return to the creamsicles, but not at the expense of the great set that the Buccaneers have now.

tigerslionspistonshabs 1,363 Posted May 23, 2013 This matchup had to have only happened once, right? Would've only played once last season, and no inter-conference play this season.

kw11333 73 Posted May 23, 2013 More of a rare jersey match up. Canucks only wore the skate logo for the first 2 years of the Ave's being in the NHL
philly97flyer 53 Posted May 23, 2013 Would love to find pictures from this game but I cant. Colorado Avalanche's first game in Philadelphia, only game between the 2 teams in the Spectrum. Flyers draft pick Peter Forsberg nets the hat tricks in a 5-3 Avs win. http://www.flyershistory.com/cgi-bin/boxscore.cgi?19950708
