It is not out of the realm of possibilities. It is "different" from what has been done in the past. But could provide a "warm weather" neutral venue that they've never had in the past. "Never say never." SAP Center has hosted NCAA Frozen Four regionals, without one hockey Div-1 school in the state. San Jose has NEVER hosted an NCAA Division I regional OR Frozen Four. Mostly because even the NCAA realizes that sticking a regional thousands of miles away from any potential fans is really, really stupid. Place it on the center of the dot, line-up, blow the whistle, and go.Because watching the officials arm and timing when he drops it is part of the art of winning a faceoff. I should know - I went 16 for 32 during my high school hockey career It's non-problem. They're pretty good about where they drop it and most officials use their right hand so even if there's a slight bias to that side 50% of the time that's the side where you'll be taking the face-off and it all balances out. Active roster of 21 players. 2 guys gone per current team = 2 new teams More money for everyone currently in the league. More revenue, same amount of players to pay.
