“Honor the military.”  There’s a nice change of pace. 😛

Seriously, that could be the most hideous wordmark in all of minor league baseball, if not professional sports.

....that's supposed to be a "B"?

(Unfortunately, that "B" is the least of this thing's many, many problems.)

Isn't scrapple just the Mid-Atlantic's version of Spam?

It's nowhere close to being the same meat item, but as for being a regional favorite garbage meat, yes. There's also pork roll/taylor ham in the Mid-Atlantic (mostly Jersey). Depends where you live.

(Both are delicious, for the record....pork roll especially)

I’ve actually never had pork roll, and people look at me like I have two heads when I say that. Scrapple, when cooked well done, is great - AS LONG AS YOU DONT THINK ABOUT WHAT IT IS. I’m typing this from the Melrose Diner in South Philly, smelling the scrapple on my neighbor’s plate, and while it’s not making me hard, there’s definitely a little movement happening.

Pork Roll/Taylor Ham is much more like Spam than Scrapple is.

As for which state scrapple is associated with, I think of it as much more of a Pennsylvania thing than a Maryland thing, though you can get it around here.  If anything, the Shorebirds should be named after some sort of chicken product . . . particularly since they play in Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.

the whole "minor league team as regional foodstuff" thing is getting out of hand.

also, scrapple is not good.

Me a couple years ago: I am really freaking sick of every minor league team doing "Star Wars night" and wearing the same mass-produced jersey

But this still has a long road to travel before the owners realize we hated it the first time/

PawSox to play as Hot Wieners

June 24, 2018 - 14:43 PM

The Pawtucket Red Sox—or PawSox to friends—will become the Pawtucket Hot Wieners for a game later this summer. It’s the latest entry in the trend sweeping through every level of minor league baseball, the temporary, food-based, alternate identity. Wieners—which Rhode […]

I hate this fad, I thought the PawSox were above this but I guess not. I wonder when the first MLB team will try this. My bet is it’ll be the Brewers.
