Small Details (and quirks) that You Love

Inspired by the other thread...

What unique things that maybe "regular" fans don't notice do you really like? I have a couple:

1. I noticed this when I was a kid, but it seems under the radar overall...that the Cubs use a patch rather than a decal on their batting helmets.

2. The Wild nod to the North Stars with (what some people think is) the North Star in its logo

Any others?

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

I have always loved the random red number on the front of the Dodgers uniforms

Some people have called for them to change it to blue, but then they're just the KC Royals. That small splash of red is what makes that uniform so visually appealing.

Off the top of my head:

- Glacier twill

- Nashville's checkerboard stripes on its old 3rd jersey

- Phoenix's "Goals For Kids" patch

- Bauer/Nike's padded crests on late '90s authentic jerseys

- Tampa Bay's Victory Stripes

- Barcelona Dragons' Catalan flag stripes

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

I think it's new this year, but Miami is wearing metallic decals(including the stripes) on their helmets. It's subtle, and looks so good up close during a night game.

Hurricanes have been wearing metallic stripes and decals since 2004 or 2005. They might be wearing chrome stripes this year, but if it's the metallic sparkle you're talking about, they've been wearing it for a while.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Ditto.

The simplicity of the uniform and the beauty of how the red numbers fit in to the whole look makes these the best uniform/hat combo in all of baseball IMO. I put the Cardinals' home unis a slight bit behind this set as #2. This year's NLCS and quite frankly the ALCS have been a uniform lover's wet dream. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the unis in action for all teams involved. Though I should admit that I think that Detroit's road unis need to lose the unnecessary white outline around the letters and numbers. Without that outline they would be darn near perfect.

And the red sox roads need to go back to the world series winning set

I totally disagree, I think this set is perfect. But of course, to each his own :)

I like the red numbers on the Cubs road jerseys, too. They get bonus points from me for also making the back numbers red. Blue (and white) on gray looks drab, but add some red and it looks nice. These might be my favorite non-Mets gray jerseys in MLB.

The old WCC logo, which highlighted the locations of member schools in the logo itself. Very clever - and a shame they didn't just update and modernize that concept after BYU joined instead of completely changing it.
