My least favorite elements of Oregon's uniforms are their gray helmets and pants. At least they were smart not to use the gray pants today.I don't mind the gray helmets, just the sonic book helmets.The gray helmet is essentially the same thing as the Sonic Boom one. They added yellow to the initial gray/carbon fiber helmets to provide more contrast than the original chrome-only wings.No the grey helmets are much better & different. They're going to look good as alwaysI know this is about a week old, but too bad they didn't show up against Tennessee. Their weakest look is any combo of just white and gray. But yea, they and Illinois are the 2 recent redesigns that have been phenominal. I wonder what they're wearing tonight? I thought the gold home numbers would bother me, but they don't. I will thoroughly like the away set with the new numbers and when combined with the gold pants. I would ditch the white pants. Can anyone think of another example? I feel kinda bad for anyone who bought the road jersey with the gold numbers now. I don't mind the gold numbers on the home jersey, but I think the white with gold outline looked better. Not a fan of the crossed spears but love the update to the spear itself.Also, the new tomahawk decals are WHITE. Perhaps they go back to the old tomahawks when they tweak the helmet color.They could have taken last year's set, added the new logo to the pants and collar, put the new spears (without crossing them) on the helmet, updated the numbers in the same color format, and added the new trim. In fact, I mentioned something to @UKAthletics about it and they said they have had quite a few compliants about it already. Most chrome applications blend in and render the logo or stripe nearly invisible.Ohio State is in their oversize striped rivalry sets and they are the old templates, not the new Mach Speed.Also interesting that some schools are wearing the Mach Speeds as their home and road primary templates and yet Oregon, Nike's flagship, wears it only as an addition to their regular old template sets.
