That sounds pretty cool, but has the potential to be disastrous. At least they are going back to something with history, but with modern touch.

Does anyone have any clue about the Rockets changes next season? Are they seriously just going to change the cut and keep the current uniforms, while adding a yellow alternate? That's so damn disappointing. Rockets fans have been begging for a return to the classic uniform and colors, so they give us overkill on yellow when all we wanted was the color used as a highlight as it should be.

Even so, If you're going to stick with the current script, logos, etc. You might as well get a new uniform design altogether. These current unis haven't worked since the mid 2ks when they used that shiny fabric and they used unique numbers. Now they use generic numbers and the rings on the sleeves will look too clustered if you shorten the sleeve cut imo. You would probably have to have both rings join together to form a single sleeve trim. The cut on the neck and trim would have to change completely as well.

A. Jersey design can't be recut due to size of elliptical shoulder stripes. Change was supposed to happen this year but was delayed to next season because of this. Current alternates will be recolored red and white for home & road (alternate font becomes primary - Rockets alluded to font alteration on media day)

2. Get used to the logo. It will stay cause owner likes it. Simple mark that was designed to become instantly recognizable, like interlocking NY. Was designed by Academy Award-winning designer Eiko Ishioka.

3. New Yellow-sleeved Clutch City alternate. Rockets alluded to this on media day.

I can say with full certainty that this is the final season for their court. I mean, physically, it's the final season for that piece of woodwork, as they will replace the entire court over the offseason with a new product.

That could mean nothing, but it wouldn't be a shock if some sort of imagery change took place with the opportunity. I can also say that the Rockets are very happy with how their court appears on television.

It was nice to see the Pistons break out the 1990s throwbacks at The Palace tonight.

...oh, never mind. It's just the Thunder wearing white so Detroit can go with the navy Motor City alts in front of the home crowd.

I'll just state here that I'm glad the Bulls don't have maroon "Windy City" alts.

This exactly. And I couldn't care less whether the designer was an Academy Award-winner or not, the logo is great and iconic and in the top-tier of the league, along with the whole identity until they started forcing yellow into it.

The wide sleeves should go, though.

Honestly I like our logo, I just wish they got rid of the drop shadow.

And yeah the wide sleeves are terrible. If they just make it a very narrow cut and even got rid of the loops I don't think it would look too bad.

We're supposed to get a new wordmark which I'm not against, but I really do like our primary logo.

As the mamaship tweeted out, Rags vs. Pens tonight in a uniporn matchup. Home whites vs. black/yellow Pens. Shouldn't the NHL have like a special Whites-At-Home Weekend thing? That'd be fun.

The promotional name could be drastically improved, also.

Um, wrong thread?

Can't wait for nike or adidas to come out with ICB warmup tees in a proprietary font...and issue some colored rubber wristbands to raise awareness with a portion of the proceeds going to some foundation that doesn't do anything but market and advertise itself.

I just have a bad feeling that this tragic event is going to become the cause of the month and the actual event becomes completely ignored.

I'm sorry, but the typeface here is clouding my vision on seeing any kind of message here. I can't describe how much I cringed when I saw this photo (from a design standpoint).

What's the problem?

Not sure if serious...?

But yes, my initial reaction was a giggle because of the Dan Gilbert letter.

I doubt that was intentional though, would seem distasteful to poke fun at something like that while standing for that kind of issue.

Yea, my reaction too. The font chioice is taking away most of the effect of the message. This photo can actually be used in graphic design education of how a font choice can emphasize/dilute a message.

I think the handwritten look of the letters gives it a more human feel to it. Plain white letters on a black background gives it a plain, straightforward look to go along with the message. What would you have done different?

Comic Sans should never be used for anything.

There are plenty of decent handwritten typefaces that work much better.
