JMurr
Friday, March 26, 1886:Shocking news the day before the Title Match. After they clinched a straight threw berth to the Title Match in Brooklyn most of the Hartford Stags moved onto Providence the sight of that game. However one player Middle Oscar MacLean requested time of so he could go visit his family in Wisconsin. The team granted him permission; something they now regret. While on his way back he was involved in an accident and today he passed away due to injuries sustained in the crash. So stunningly the Stags, who brought MacLean in this offseason to provide some support to Leadoff David Wharton, will have to play without him. David Wharton has vowed to win the Title Match in his honor.
