VictoriaGooner
I could definitely see an American Cricket League. There is plenty of support for a national league due to the number of foreigners in the US from countries where cricket is even to or bigger than football. I would see a team in Vancouver due to its large Pakistan/Indian/hindu population rather than Las Vegas or Arizona THE SHORT FUSE | ARSEBLOG
jr79
Love cricket, through and through. Australian KFC T20 is starting soon isn't? Cricket season is almost over here. The World T20 championships start this week in Bangladesh though. And there are two great rivalries in cricket, Australia vs England and Pakistan vs India, the rest sort of just happens around the edges of those two. Australia have had great rivalries at times with India, West Indies, South Africa but they don't compare to the one with England. And I'm sure Indians and Pakistanis tell similar stories. VictoriaGooner
EDCL is pretty big...but not as big as Vancouver District Cricket Association THE SHORT FUSE | ARSEBLOG
Virtual Appliance
I think a test series between the West Indies and England in America is probably closer than we think. Now where would it be played?

Virtual Appliance
Has anybody been to a match abroad and to a match at Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Florida (the only American ground with a capacity of 20,000 seats or more)? How does Lauderhill, Florida compare? VictoriaGooner
I didn't even know that there was a full cricket ground in the US, especially with 20,000 capacity. Here in Victoria we have a cricket ground at Beacon Hill Park. The ground and club house has been around for over 100 years. It doesn't have any fitted seats but great views at all angles with the nice sea breeze blowing across the surrounding tree tops. Victoria District Cricket Association has been using the ground for numerous years plus has been hosted many high profile matches. pluggerplugger1
I recently watched a documentary on cricket in modern-day America by ESPNCricinfo and how it can grow, and much of it was filmed in that ground in Florida. They just built it, it looks very nice. There's a rec league here in the Cities, but I think they play on a field somewhere in Minneapolis where baseball games are usually played. VictoriaGooner
Cricket has been growing leaps and bounds here in Canada over the last 10-15 years. It's only natural that the US will grow as well with the constant immigration of people from countries vibrant in cricket. That's what happened here in Canada with Pakistanis, East Indians, Bangladeshi and West Indians THE SHORT FUSE | ARSEBLOG

I subscribed to them on YouTube and I know they used to be known as Cricket Plus, but they haven't uploaded anything from yesterday's games yet. I do like their highlight packages of recent matches, though. They're very thorough.

VictoriaGooner
Wow Bangladesh is making short work of opponents in the Qualifying Round of the T20 World Cup. They won their first two matches by 9 and 8 wickets respectively. They are proving they shouldn't have been drawn into the Qualifying Stage. Plus the Irish are doing well in the other qualifying group. It is a shame Canada's T20 team didn't qualify for the World Cup. I think we need more experience playing on the world stage prior to progressing in development. Unfortunately we are losing to sides like Afghanistan and UAE in qualifying. As for warm-up matches, the England v Pakistan was entertaining. Looking forward to the pool stages. THE SHORT FUSE | ARSEBLOG
