I must say that this thread has helped me out a lot so far. However, I can't get rid of the white area around the logo I'm using. The eraser tool is pretty much worthless. Any help?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Are you saying that you have a logo in a format other than SVG that you brought in to Inkscape?

That doesn't do anything, and also there's no "T" box anywhere. So I can't add the outlines to numbers.

Adding outlines/strokes to text (or anything for that matter is pretty simple. Take the object for which you want an outline added, copy it and then "paste in place." From there, lower it behind the main object, then you can add a stroke to the object that's in the background and play around with the size/width of the stroke. That way, the integrity of the text/object remains intact while you also add the outline you're looking for.
