The "Cleveland" word mark will actually probably go over pretty well with the fans.

Over the last decade or so, there has been a real push-back by residents against the whole "Cleveland is a joke of a city, laugh at them for their patheticness" thing.

Note how anytime Bill Simmons makes a Cleveland joke, he acknowledges that he gets about a billion death threats on Twitter. You can't make jokes about the city anymore without Clevelanders flaming you into oblivion.

Funny. My original thoughts on the CLEVELAND were that it's part of this stupid over-the-top enthusiasm that's so prevalent these days: "YAY LET'S TELL EVERYONE HOW PROUD WE ARE TO BE FROM [iNSERT RUST BELT CITY] because if we don't tell everyone how awesome it is all the time, they'll assume we're embarrassed to be from [insert rust belt city]." * It's like when you see a product on the shelf that says,"GREAT NEW TASTE!!!" Maybe I'll try it, maybe I won't, but it definitely tells me that it was so screwed up before that they had to rework the whole thing.

Be cool, man.§ Just let it be.

* I say this as somebody from Buffalo, mind you. I don't have anything against Cleveland.

§ Not referring to actual quoted poster. Just in general.

There's definitely sensitivity amongst the locals when it comes to discussing the Rust Belt. On another note CLEVELAND in that block font looks totally generic and bush league.

That's not real, look at the bumper logo, it's last years word mark not the new one
Sort of reminds me of a flower pot.

If what appeared on those "leaked" jerseys turns out to be the real thing, then the numbers on those jerseys also look bush league to me--and is yet the latest example of a seeming disconnect between established team font (if it has one) and jersey numbers that has been the MO of many Nike designed uniforms the past several years. I mean if you looks throughout CFB, you'll see it with North Carolina and Arizona especially, and in the NFL with the Buccaneers (ugh) and the Dolphins (which would be salvageable if they didn't feel the need to round one corner of each digit just to be "custom"). These number fonts that seem to come from out of nowhere is one of the most annoying trends I've noticed over the years--and the others suppliers have been guilty of it as well, just so no one thinks is just another "bash Nike" post. (But, when you're the leader and innovator of a sector, your highlights and, probably even more so your screw ups, will be scrutinized more heavily.)

Cleveland sports announcer (and convicted wife beater) Tony Rizzo is claiming on Twitter that "the leaks are fake," but if one were to count all the times Rizzo has made some sort of "scoop" and was proven dead wrong, it would take all night.

(I seem to remember quite a few "insiders" were claiming that the leaked Dolphins and Jaguars photos above were 'fake' at the time.)

For me, what clinches these as being real is the "Dawg Pound" logo on the shirt in the background. Only a troll with extremely severe OCD would actually bother to also photoshop/manufacture a fake t-shirt for the background.

Why did you feel the need to include that when we are here talking about jerseys? Simply state he is a sports announcer. That's it.

LOL! Because he is.

Doesn't that irk you when you hear sports radio guys talking about Tyson and don't mention he's a rapist?

Not in the least. People who were convicted of something and who have served their sentences have paid their debt to society, and are perfectly entitled to resume their lives free of harassment. They are equal to anyone else; and rest of us are morally bound to acknowledge this.

Of course, many fail to acknowledge this. Those who ignore this essential moral obligation are entirely in the wrong, and are behaving in a shameful manner unfit for a civilised society.

Exactly we've all made mistakes in our pasts, some worse than others. What is most important though is how you learn from them and overcome them, and become a better person because of it. for someone to constantly ridicule someone for a mistake they made in their past and not look at what they have done since is simply ignorant and no better than s/he is.

Not to "toot my own horn" but could this concept I did a few years ago become a reality?

I know it's obviously very different, but the striping on the sleeves is a similar idea.

You may well be onto something here.

@RuiterWrongFAN: "#Browns new helmet will be matte orange with modified brown & white oreo stripe + brown facemask"

He's been proven wrong many many times in the past. He saw the photo (posted above) about the fake matte orange helmet that's obviously a fan mockup and tried to take credit by reporting the new helmet would be matte orange.

Self-fullfilling prophecy.
