Outside of the much-maligned two-tone helmet, I think the Jags' current look is an upgrade from their last set, but not quite as good as the set before that (pictured above vs. Tampa).

The Bucs? Man, I just can't get on board with anything in that new set other than the cleaner wordmark.

You know someone said it a few pages back but I really do like the Jags and Bucs looks. The flaws with them (Jags helmets and Bucs numbers) detract in the overall look, but if they fixed those things they would both be pretty sharp looking teams.

Yeah if they fixed everything on both sets they would look really good imo.

I am with JoshMcC1982. If you gave the Jags either a solid black or solid metallic gold helmet they would look pretty good to me. If you changed out the Buccs' numbers and made a few more tweaks (shrink helmet logo, add metallic sheen to "pewter" pants and yolks so they look like pewter and not dirty dish water) the Buccs unis are also salvageable. But, that said, the image of the earlier Jags v. Bucs is definitely a step up from the current uniforms overall (due mostly to the problems cited), just like a tweaked mid 2000's Bills uniform would still not be as good as what they have now.

Both the JAGS and Bucs epitomize the worst of nike's modern designs. They take the modern nike template (e51) and do nothing more than a paint by number/fill tool exercise. There's very little thought to actual cohesive design other than coloring in pant panels, sleeves or shoulder yokes in team colors. Then they throw in a few bells and whistles like sublimation or reflective numbers and call it a day.

I'm so tired of this "if" or "besides that" BS. You can't just randomly dismiss atrocious design elements that are a big part of the design. Especially when I've never actually heard a justification for how the rest of the Jaguars and Buccaneers garbage looks are somehow good.

And literally no human being could actually like the Bucs' numbers or Jags' helmet. It's simply impossible. Even if someone said they did, its such a ridiculous statement that I wouldn't actually believe they meant it.

The Bucs current uniforms actually have helped to kill my fanhood of the team, and my damn user name is Bucfan. It's the symbolic nail in the coffin. At least before when they were losing games they looked good. Now? Ugh. Noting left to see here.

I think the amazing thing about both the Jags and Bucs uniforms is that they both have a singular element (the Jags' helmet, the Bucs' font) that are such undeniable absolute nightmares, that the awfulness of the rest of the design is actually somewhat hidden. In both cases, if you look past those terrible choices, you still see a pretty bad uniform.

Reading some of the recent posts here, I was reminded of this exchange during a Rolling Stone interview with Noel Gallagher;

What about Taylor Swift? She's a pop star, but many people praise her talent as a songwriter.
[Laughs] Who says that? Her parents?

Lots of people.
Who's "people"? Name these people. You're :censored:ing lying. She seems like a nice girl, but no one has ever said those words, and you :censored:ing know it.

That's what I think when someone tells me "lots of people" like the new uniforms of Tampa, Jacksonville, and Seattle. No one has ever said those words and you know it.

How you think I feel, playa?? And I'm the one whose first cousin is in the team's friggin' Ring of Honor!!

(Of course the beauty of having an ambiguous screen name is that it can also represent the Pirates, as in the MLB team up in Pittsburgh of whom I've always been a fan. So there. B) )

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

Ha! That makes me feel better. I was a huge Fred Taylor fan and loved their uniforms. Fred Taylor's departure from Jacksonville coincided with them getting new uniforms before the 2009 season, (which I hated). I had been posting concepts based on the rumors of their new uniforms on a Jaguars message board, which led me here, so I just used my username from there to verify I was the same person. After Freddy left, it was hard for me to get into watching their games. Paired with their new identity, it felt like I was watching a completely different team. Then they go out and embarrass themselves further with the latest rebrand and I can't help but distance myself. I was raised to be a Cowboys fan and it was easy to fall back into that with my current favorite player (Dez Bryant) being there. I feel like I'm living a lie. I'm a fickle fan and I hate to admit it. :ninja:

My NFL concept series (in progress) --ATL, CLE, NE, WAS done. AZ updated 04/21/23.

hahahaha i love that Gallagher quote. But yeah, it's almost true, except I think Seattle has pretty sick uniforms. Tampa's are growing on me, but Jacksonville needs to stick to 1 helmet color. Either one would look nice with those unis but not combined. I'd like to see them use the alternate teal jerseys with black pants more too but i doubt they ever do that.

Also, Tampa's jersey with the pewter pants is soooo much better than with the white pants.

1. He's written some really stupid lyrics.

2. Aside from the helmet, the jags uniforms are an upgrade over the previous set(not the one before the previous).

The Bucs uniforms look great color wise, I like the balance in the red pewter red set, but design wise it's not great and ultimately is a downgrade.
