Clintau24
In another thread, we ended up talking about the artwork that the grounds crews mow in to the grass at ballparks. Someone requested it to be a thread on its own (rhetorically or not) so here it is!I've always enjoyed this kind of thing. My family owns a golf course so I mow most of it and always keep these designs in the back of my head when I'm on the mower. "I believe in Auburn and love it!" wonderbread
This one is probably my favorite, especially since we won 2 world series with that logo in the infield
DaytonBlue
Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse. Arch still mowed into field to this day. "I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be." -Peter Gibbons RIP Demitra #
Clintau24
Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse. Arch still mowed into field to this day. The arch is one of the coolest mowed designs ever. I'm so glad they still use it.One of my favorite designs is when Boston went with the Northwestern Stripes last season. "I believe in Auburn and love it!" RoughRiders99
I've always loved seeing grass arts like this!I have also wondered if every other teams did something similar to what the Cardinals did, what sort of things would certain teams use? Like for example, St. Louis would obviously use the Arch. Minnesota might use pine trees, although I'm not sure how it would be applied to the field. San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge, duh. Oakland with the Bay Bridge, probably. Kansas City with some sort of a crown. Seattle with the Space Needle, somehow.
Clintau24
Some of these designs can get rather psychedelic. A lot of the patterns my Auburn Tigers use can cause some major headaches. They're still wonderful though.I've always loved seeing grass arts like this!I have also wondered if every other teams did something similar to what the Cardinals did, what sort of things would certain teams use? All these ideas would be pretty cool and I'd love to see them. "I believe in Auburn and love it!"

Clintau24
One of my favorite things is when Auburn places the AU in the infield. Love seeing them roll the logo down. "I believe in Auburn and love it!"
cshookemHORNS
Having to mow yards in the summer always had me interested in how to make cool patterns in the grass, but I've always wondered how they put large patterns like skylines or the Red Sox in the center. It is just so cool to see.

GeauxColonels
While this isn't anything impressive by any means, I thought it was interesting to see how LSU trimmed its field this offseason in preparation for the spring football game. I don't believe I'ver ever seen them mow that field in this pattern before:

Clintau24
Auburn has always used the same mowing pattern for the past few years. This past year, they decided to use different patterns, and they weren't as nice as the original in my opinion. These were a little too mainstream for me. I liked the original pattern so much better. This is the original pattern. It looked great on TV and in person:Here are two of the newer patterns. I didn't like them as much as the above one. This was from the A-Day game last weekendThis has always been my favorite:Looking for something different, I found a better angle of this oneI actually took that picture myself. 2005 Home Opener from the Upper DeckIt's a wonderful picture!
