Thanks for the C+C, guys.

CHARLOTTE HORNETS

Because they have no current uniform yet, this one is based on speculation and my wishes (as well as Conrad's Buzz City font). I wanted a bit of a 90's flair to it, but have some modern additions/cleaning on top of the original look. The logos are much the same as the ones that were unveiled, just with the "Buzz City" logo and the silhouette removed. The court does incorporate some typical 90's elements, like the two logos in the lanes. Probably my favorite feature of the court though is the sublimated honeycomb pattern in the purple panels in the free throw area, which also appears on the uniforms (I always like to incorporate uniform elements into the courts when I can).

The uniforms are also a mix of classic Hornets and modern embellishments. The light blue color is used for the pinstripes on the home uniform (as the teal clashed too much with the wordmark and numbers), and the honeycomb pattern is subliminated into the side panels. There are only four pinstripes on the uniform, as I wanted to separate them from the fuller pinstripes of the Magic and the paired pinstripes looked far too busy. The teal is still dominant, as it was on the original Hornets' set (I think the new Hornets will probably be dominantly purple, but teal is a unique color that they can really make their own if they don't bog it down like the Sharks or the 2003-11 Marlins). I also went with a bracketed collar, because I felt it looked like a hornet's stinger.

The alternate is a purple version of the road uniform, with the textless primary logo on the shorts replaced with the "CH" logo. Because of the desire to make teal prominent, and the dominantly purple court, I felt it would work better as an alternate than a regular road uniform.

On deck, the Chicago Bulls!

Hornets stuff seems a bit familiar, lol: http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/90303-bringin-the-buzz-back-to-charlotte-new-unis-court/page-2#entry2141872

Glad you're putting my font to good use tho. ;)

Thanks Conrad. I apologize if my concept looks too similar to yours, but I had not seen yours until now. If you would like me to change it, I'd be glad to do so.

The only critique I have for your Hornets set is that there are too many logos on the court at the ends, using both tertiary logos makes it look more cluttered. I'd choose one of the tertiary logos and stick with it, getting rid of the other one altogether. Great work otherwise!

Slow clap ovation (not another teen movie) great job man with the Hornets. Just one complaint. Multicolored Pinstripes home and road. Thats all.

Thanks for the C+C. Here is an updated Charlotte Hornets, now with multicolored pinstripes using royal blue on the home+road, teal, light purple (similar to what the MK 1 Hornets wore), and purple and a cleaned up court (removing the anemic side hornet and making Hugo's update the only tertiary).

CHICAGO BULLS

I'll make it no secret, the Bulls have my favorite look in the NBA. The shorts diamonds, the simple yet effective striping pattern, the clean block scripts, and the lovely color scheme make their home and road set so great. However, they could use some tweaking on the standard uniforms, and some significant changes elsewhere. I added a tertiary logo of the Bull in front of a powder blue six-pointed star (a reference to the Chicago flag). On the court, I went back to the Chicago Stadium-style court (as recreated by Kodrinsky), with the logo font on the baselines, the dominantly red paint, and the basketball-less center. Not only is it cleaner, it ties in better with the color distribution of the team (red before black).

The uniforms receive some minor tweaks. On the home and road, the Bull is removed from above the NOB (a logo that detailed should never go above an NOB). On the road, the lettering of the NOB is inverted in color (now it's white with black outlines) to improve visibility (this is better than this, although the latter moment was far more memorable).

The alternates are not great departures from the Bulls' history. The black alt now uses two-color lettering (with an inverted NOB like the road), and adjusts the striping pattern to match the different base (red-white-black-white-red, as the uniform color is supposed to be center). The Hardwood Classics alt is a recreation of this road uniform (I could not replicate the original script, so I used the White Sox's road script as it was close enough to the original).

Up next, a double alliterative dose of Cavs and Mavs!

I'd replace the mascot logo with the sideways hornet,
