I think these three are obvious.

The old Candlestick was better than the later one:

The Oakland-Alameda Coliseum pre-Mount Davis:

Yankee Stadium 1940's-50's (before the CBS renovation destroyed most of the original stadium and left a cookie-cutter in its place):

I completely agree with you on the Oakland Coliseum. I say it was easier on the groundskeepers to just have the football field go from home plate to center field for Raider games. The current gridiron layout drives me nuts every time I watch the Chargers play the Raiders.

I don't know if this was what the OP had in mind but I wish Old Comiskey Park was still standing and wish I saw a game at Chicago Stadium. I liked Kauffman Stadium's outfield look before its renovation. It looks too busy now.

I've been to Rexall Place, Rogers Arena and Pacific Coliseum... Out of those 3, Rexall has to be my all time favorite. The old arena has such a great atmosphere during games and the nosebleed seats actually have pretty nice site lines compared to Rogers Arena. That and I love that the LRT stops right at the arena as well.

Simple, pastoral, comforting.

Dimestore Dodger Stadium

I've been to several games at Kaufman, all before the renovations, and that outfield area with no seats looked boring as hell. Made the stadium feel even more empty than it was. Especially looked barren on TV. Now I actually wanna go to a game at the "new place".

Fun fact: I got pulled over in the Kauffman Stadium parking lot because I was driving around looking at the stadium and I guess I drove past some barrier that was supposed to keep me out. It was also 11:00 at night. I realize now it wasn't the smartest thing to do, but in my defense I had been driving for 12 hours by myself that day and I was a little loopy.

I was passing through Kansas City and had hoped to take in a game to cross the stadium off my list, but the Royals were on the road at the time so midnight creeping was my best option. The cop was actually pretty understanding and let me go without a ticket.

Kinda related story, in May1998 I was driving to Windsor Canada and took a detour through Detroit because I really wanted to see Tiger Stadium. So I'm driving around, pretty much lost, then low and behold there it was. Also - it was midnight, and some no-goodnicks started approaching my car so I high tailed it out of there through multiple red lights and IIRC went straight to the tunnel to Canada. At least I think there was a tunnel.

Most all of them. I grew up in the early to mid 1970s, when I became a baseball and NFL football fan. Precious few of the old stadia remain. The modern stadiums and venues are more awesome than not, but I, like many others, have many memories attached and associated to old ballparks.

MLB & NFL stadiums I miss:

Yankee Stadium, Memorial Stadium (Colts & Orioles), Tiger Stadium, even Cleveland's Municipal Stadium a.k.a. the "Mistake by the Lake" (Browns & Indians), County Stadium, Exhibition Stadium (Toronto), old Comisky Park, Metropolitan Stadium (Vikings & Twins), Arlington Stadium (Rangers), Veterans' Stadium (Phillies & Eagles), Three Rivers Stadium (Steelers & Pirates.....I've never been able to "embrace" Heinz Field for some reason, even though I love ketchup), Old Busch Stadium (NFL and MLB Cardinals), Shea Stadium (Mets & Jets), Riverfront Stadium (Bengals & Reds), Astrodome (Oilers & Astros), Candlestick Park (Giants & soon 49ers), Atlanta Fulton County Stadium (Falcons & Braves), Foxboro Stadium (Patriots), RFK (Redskins), Orange Bowl (Dolphins), Mile High Stadium (Broncos), Texas Stadium (Cowboys), Tampa Stadium a.k.a. the old Sombrero (Buccaneers), LA Coliseum (LA Rams/Raiders). I also miss the Rose Bowl stadium being used for Super Bowls. That was probably my favorite stadium for Super Bowls to be played at.

I don't miss the Seattle Kingdome (felt like a coffin) and I don't miss the Humpty Dumpty Metrodome.

I can't say I miss any old stadiums. I've been to three old arenas that used to house NHL teams (Hamilton Forum, Maple Leaf Gardens, Ottawa Civic Centre) and two stadiums that housed CFL teams (Ivor Wynne Stadium and Exhibition Stadium). They were all old and well past their glory days and their replacements couldn't come fast enough...
