So I thought I would take on the deed of starting the 2014/15 Football Thread, like Kramerica Industries did for 2013/14. This will be a place to talk about transfers, all news and matches from domestics leagues from Brazil and Argentina to the A-League with stops in Europe, title chases, backroom dealings, big football stories that makes all the national papers and small football stories alike that only make the local airwaves, UEFA Champions League and Europa League competitions as well as international friendlies and EURO 2016 qualifying that starts in August/September. This is our thread to talk about everything domestic and international football for the 2014/15 season.

I know the World Cup is still going on with the Semifinals going tomorrow and Wednesday. But action is already heating up in the transfer market. As well, Barcelona has accepted a €40m offer from Arsenal for Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez with talks progressing throughout the coming days this week. Arsenal are in a competition to sign the Chilean ahead of Liverpool, Manchester United, and Juventus. The timing is right for Barcelona as they have made a €88m bid for Luis Suarez due to his buy-out clause from Liverpool comes into affect at that price. But reports from Mundo Deportivo state that Barcelona will have to pay €94.6m for his release clause to be activated

I do hope Everton signs a good young keeper this window. Howard's just come off a career season and a fantastic world cup don't get me wrong, but I just hope that the team doesn't try to ride him off until he's 50 or something and we have to watch him become the Cam Ward of the BPL. It may not be the biggest need for the Toffees right now, but the other keepers in our system are a good few years away from being ready to test the first team waters.

Also, Lukaku has discussed the possibility of returning to Everton, so that's nice.

I don't understand why Marco Reus would want to leave Dortmund for Barcelona. Stay in Germany and play in front of some of the best fans for a team that has a chance to win Champions league championships.

Hey guys, came in and changed the thread title to make it less cluttered and better get across the point. The old naming conventions for soccer threads worked, no need to make it more complicated to anyone new to the sport.

Cheers!
