GriffinM6
Well folks I decided to put my NBA crossover on hold. Now I present to you the All States baseball tournament. This is a tournament like no other. This tournament pits the combined 1st and 2nd all state high school baseball teams against each other(DC included with Virginia). Yes that's right, 50 TEAMS! The tournament goes like this...- 10 geographically determined regions of 5 teams play a round robin.- Top 3 teams in each region advance- Region winners are seeded 1-10, 2nd; 11-20, and 3rd; 21-30- Single elimination from then on until championship series(best of 3) - 1st and 2nd overall seeds get one game bye. Run Time:- Late June - Late July- Bracket play starts on ASG weekendLocations- Each team in each region will host 2 home games and play 2 away.- The region games will be in minor league stadiums - Round of 16 will be hosted by TD Ameritrade Park and the host park of the AAA All Star Game - Quarters will be at Yankee Stadium and Dodger Stadium- Semis will be at Fenway Park- Final series will be at the host site of the MLB All Star GameHere are the regions below. I will try to post either one or two teams a day. Some of these uniforms will be simple, others will be a little out there. I'm going to try to differentiate the colors schemes as much as possible, but some may looks similar, because, well there's 50 freaking states! Anyways, not all teams will have a white and grey jersey. Others may have two colored jerseys. It just depends on how unique or simple I want to be. Team colors will be based some of the following factors, state flag, state nickname, state bird, state flower, etc. Most teams will have numbers on the front of the jerseys and state flags as well.First up is the Deep South region and my home state of Georgia! The blue is only there to contrast the peach color, as Georgia is nicknamed the "Peach State" The colors and peach logo do come from the Columbus Catfish however. Hope to get some good C&C on this. Pool play results will be revealed soon!
RyanB06
Stupid question: why is Connecticut not grouped with the rest of New England? And why is Pennsylvania not in the North Atlantic group? Doesn't make sense to me.Oh, and another thing: your piccy no worky. Doesn't make sense to me.Oh, and another thing: your piccy no worky. Pics working now. And I did have them in those respective regions originally, but geography had screwed me over, because in order to have 50 teams originally, I had Connecticut and Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Vermont combine. That way I could have all of New England together, and then I had to split California into 3 regions. I had to think this through though... that would be ridiculous to combine 2 states and split another. Also, how the hell was I going to do uniforms for the 2 possible combined teams? After asking my self those questions, I decided to redo the regions.
Seadragon76
The idea, on paper, sounds good. My issue is with timing. Some states (like Washington) are already done with their High School baseball season while others are still going on. Why interrupt their seasons for this event? What about host stadiums? Some schools don't have big baseball stadiums to begin with.

And as you can see, this tournament is from late June to late July, so it's just enough time to play the whole thing without interfering with the current or new school year. I think it could offer a pretty wild look to the uniform as a whole while still staying fairly close to the traditional style
drdougfresh
Neat idea, Griff. I take issue with two region names as they're not really accurate based on the states in them: Midwest and Far West. I'd go with Great Plains and Southwest, instead. Though most of Colorado and New Mexico don't exactly fit with the Great Plains moniker, the name is a bit better fit for all states in the region than Midwest, IMO. GriffinM6
Alright guys, here is the next team; South Carolina. Wanted to give them a Tigers style home jersey and make the road a little old timey looking. Think like the 50's Cubs. This is one of the few teams that will use the colors of the state flag. I think it would be cool to see the Palmetto on the hat, it makes it more distinctive to the state. That's what- She
GriffinM6
Alright. I'll add a palmetto.Anyways, the top 3 from each group are determined by- Best record- Head-to-head- Runs scored- Runs allowed- Run differencialThe most important of those is obviously the record. The rest are just tie breakers. edit: I put the Palmetto on the hat.
Germanshepherd
That SC logo doesn't really work for me, try making them interlock more like the dodgers logo or one on top of the other like the Yankees logo because right now it looks like a weird curvy swastika. I love the road unis though. i have unquantifiable corpses on my conscience
GriffinM6
Well I'm back today to present to you guys Mississippi. Had to have at least one cream uniform here. The colors are based of the Magnolia flower. This is one of my favorites that I've done so far.

Just came across this and I have to say that I love the idea of this. I've always been fascinated by a nation-wide tournament that's somewhat similar to the LLWS. You'll have to go through A LOT if you want to make it to the finals. However, just a little nitpick, Iowa High School Baseball actually plays in the summer. Their season starts in late May and the state championship is actually during the last week of July/1st week of August... so theroitically, an Iowa team wouldn't be able to participate in this type of tournament. Germanshepherd
I'd use a different script font if I were you this one is a bit hard to read, also Mississippi doesn't have the state flag patch on it's sleeve like the other teams do. i have unquantifiable corpses on my conscience
