Concept Logo For My Daughters High School (Another Update)

My Daughter is getting ready to start her freshman year at Anderson County High School which is where my wife attended high school as well.

She is on the Volleyball team & for years I have been thinking of coming up with a logo for them that is not a rip off of someone else. I finally put the time into it.

They currently use some of these logos as branding for their sports.

Obviously they are ripoffs of the Bulls & the Longhorns. Here is my logo that kinda pulls the two together. Let me know what you think I may expand to do some uniforms.

I am really glad you did this. I teach at a HS that has the Mavericks as our mascot and I hate our current logo. We have used the longhorns and a couple of ugly bull designs, but I want to use something like you have here, but I am not proficient at making one. I am very interested in what you design and the final result you create. Our colors our green/orange (U of Miami). Please post your developments to give me ideas.

If you have a request, you'll probably want to post it in the Requests section, with a few more details than what you're giving.

Here is an update changed the eyes just a little and made the hair on top bigger added some shading to the ears to kind of balance the logo more. Improvement?

Definitely an improvement. I think the mouth area could use some definition as well. I think there's something about the eyes that makes them look concerned rather than determined or intimidating, but I can't put my finger on what it is.

I'm not sure if you referenced a real bull/longhorn photo when making this, but cattle eyes rest on the side of their head. Currently, the eyes in this are very much in the front still. They also seem a little too large. The size is making it look somewhat cute and the angle of the brow and pupil is making it look bored. If you are still planning on making updates, I'd consider the eyes.

I did look at the pics in the beginning & used them to actually frame the overall shape but I see I have lost a little of the longhorn look probably from looking at other Logos of Bulls.

I am going to take another crack thanks Jaha32.

No problem. I used to reference other logos before and during the design process, but I find they often lead me astray, so now I mainly just stick to photos for accuracy.

Ok here is a pretty big change completely redid the eyes actually used my first design I had that I did not show but this time widened them out to be more bovine. Changed the nose to be more defined.

Also changed the M hair to better show an M I may use the top of the M as a basis for a wordmark & font.

C & C please!

Although I liked your previous version, this is definitely better. The eyes are wider and the sharper nose send a "Tougher" message and give it the look a mascot should have. The M is better and the definition in the nose is more authentic. As I mentioned before, we too are the Mavs and would love to see this in our colors. I think my AD would really like this better than our current

You definetly have a good start here, but I think the main issue (well at least my main issue with it) is the eyes. The longhorn looks tired l, I think if you sharpened up the eyes by angling them a bit and maybe adding a more of a unibrow, your logo would look a lot meaner and intimidating.

Do you mean connect the brows all the way out or connect them to the snout area going down to the nose.

Does anyone else think the eyes need to be bigger eyes are always hard but if I made them much bigger they would stop looking like a longhorn bull which was the problem earlier.

Thanks for all the comments I believe I am really close.
