Stolen Work

I'm adding this here in an effort to get some board memebers' help in stopping 2 ebay sellers: johnrockafella  and  thesepatchesaremakingmethirsty

These sellers have been taking images of mine as well as other posters and making "new old stock" iron on patches. I feel like if enough people turn them in to ebay VeRO then we may get them to stop. Here are some of the items I recognized:

damn that is crappy. Ripped of you and Fraser. Wish people respected art like they do other businesses.

Thanks, yeah if someone would walk into the Louvre (or any gallery) and take pictures of the art, then print them and sell them as their own (without permission) people would flip out.

How do you report them. Maybe I'm being simple, but I don't see it

Click on the item url and scroll down on the item. When you see the Description and Shipping & Payments section look to the right hand side of the screen and there's a Report Item link.

I have a question, why not leave them use it and then report it? I mean this is 100% the same, so they'll pay the damages etc... I had this question in mind as I don't know what to do, leave them use it etc and attack.

Financial restitution in these situations is tough because civil court requires proof of both wrongdoing and resulting damages... especially dealing with a public school... a simple cease and desist is probably most realistic.

Chad Stilson has been ripped off again, this time by Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School

It can't be stolen. The colors are different. -- High school, probably.

Exactly.  Tough getting anything from a public school district as they have governmental immunity.

Hey guys, I saw a page on Facebook (''professional photographer'') using this logo and I swear I remember it from somewhere else, it can't be their logo. I couldn't find the original creator, maybe you guys know where it's from.

^ the lesson here is when displaying your work online, make it as difficult as possible for people to lift it. the 1st slide in that behance presentation is a gimme for theives. the 2nd slide is a great presentation that isn't easily copied because you'd have to do quite a bit of work to recreate it and if its one thing thieves dont want to do, its spending time creating things

BMA - The problem is that he/she shouldn't have to worry about posting their work on a portfolio site/art display site and have idiots try to steal it for their own gain. It's shameful really, I had something I did for someone get lifted and I honestly had zero idea it was stolen until someone here had pointed it out, I was really thankful for that, the part that got me angry was the whole "Look what I made" the made part...that person lifted 100% of the work and then tried to pass it off as their own work.

I wish there was a better way to protect the work, even in the 2nd slide, anyone with even basic Illustrator skills could copy & lift that logo.

I know this isn't a logo, but still.

My poorly done gimp experiment MLB: Hot Hands had a thing stolen of Kris Bryant for a YouTube thumbnail.

I know this isn't a big thing or whatever but it's still annoying and I'm pissed and this is pretty much the only community that understands
