I like the first one and the fourth one on the top row.
I really like the 5th one in the first row. Nice classic look for a classic name.
Is there any real significance to the sawblade or pinecone imagery used in some of the concepts?
Ottawa started as a lumber town so a lumberjack theme is entirely appropriate. You can find pictures online that show all the logs on the Ottawa River up through the 1930's or thereabouts. There were several huge sawmills on the shore near Lebreton Flats.
The theme is good. The logos and name are all absolutely horrid.
Oh my, last fall I had to seed a testing database for our software with the roster of a made-up small company so I had tons of fun making up names and searching online for suggestions (keeping in mind they had to be clean). You may have to say some of them out loud to "get it". But, by all means, enjoy the fruits of that labour:
I came across The Pretender (ran from 1996-2001) and have been re-watching that lately. It was a really good show. I'd forgotten how well it was done. Yeah, a little hokey and feel-good at times and you have to suspend your disbelief but still quite entertaining.
I also checked out the pilot episode of "Orphan Black" earlier. I have no idea what's going on but it's intrigued me enough to want to see the second episode.
