Who wouold YOU sign a shoe deal with?
May 13, 2012 - 10:52
Oh the things I ponder. Anyway, I was looking through my Eastbay catalog yesterday, noting all the different shoe brands they offer, and it got me to thinking: If I could have my own signature shoe, it would be with...
Then I came to a blank. There are way more popular footwear companies than I realized. So I ask you, CCSLC, if you could have a signature shoe, or sign a shoe deal with anyone (as the two ideas aren't entirely mutually exclusive), with whom would it be? What would would your shoe look like? Be creative as you want.
At first I thought about Nike. But their shoes always ran small from what I remember as a kid. So if I had the choice, I'd go with a casual shoe style. One of favorite pair of shoes I've owned since high school has been my low-cut pumas. Leather base. Navy blue suede stripe.
So, if i were leaning in one direction, I'd say a pair of casual wear Pumas (but don't set that in stone)
What about you? -
Akinator, the Web Genius
April 23, 2012 - 16:09
I was hanging out with my best friend this past weekend and he showed me this crazy site.. It's a great time waster if you need one. Think of someone in your head (It works best if it's someone famous; It's really fun if the person is really obscure). The genie asks you around 10 yes/no questions. Though he doesn't always guess on the 1st try, he guesses accurately enough, often enough, to where it'll blow your effing mind. Me and my boys had loads of fun with it. Definitely give it a try if you have the time. It never ceased to amaze me how accurately he'd guess the most obscure of celebrities. It doesn't have to be a celebrity though. It can be a character too.
To give you an idea of some of the people he guessed for me and my friends:
- Dolph Ziggler
- Samwell
- Tommy (Power Rangers)
- Jandek
- Lou Ferrigno
- Tracy Porter (got him on the 3rd guess)
Lemme know if you guys (and token girls) enjoyed the site as much as I did, along with how many guesses it took for Akinator to guess your celebrity! - Dolph Ziggler

Mega Millions
March 30, 2012 - 11:34
Surprised no one started a thread on this. It's sweeping the nation. It's the highest cash reward in US history. Has anyone bought tickets? What would you do if you won the cash prize? -
What search engine did you use before Google?
March 5, 2012 - 13:37
I was thinking about how whenever we ask an obvious question, we're always refered to Google, so much so, that we use it as a verb. No one "yahoos" or "dogpiles" a topic. So assuming that most people, if not everyone, uses Google as their primary search engine, what did you use before it became the preferred search engine.
I used AskJeeves circa 2004. I was amazed that you could type in a question in the search box and it would actually provide an answer. It was astounding! After that I used Altavista for a while as well as Yahoo! as my mom had the latter set as her homepage on her computer. I remember old commercials before the popularization of Google that advertised "keywords" to type into aol.com or America Online as it was also called. I didn't start using Google until 2006 when I needed to use its superior image search engine for my telecommunications class in high school.
So what search engine did you use before Google? This is pretty much a nostalgia thread so I'm curious. -
Best HBCU Uniform.
February 19, 2012 - 00:16
I wish I would have thought to start this thread earlier this month, but I didn't.
Oh well.
In honor of Black History Month in America, I wanted to give some shine to a part of college athletics we don't really discuss here, Historically Black Colleges and Universities b.k.a. HBCUs. But
Since I started this thread so late, rather than dividing it by sport, I'll make this thread a free-for-all. Any uniform. Any sport. Any era. The only thing I ask is that you provide pictures for our visual pleasure.
For me, look no further than last year's Bayou Classic. Southern's "road" uniforms were gorgeous IMO
