Vectorized guitar rig

January 19, 2013 - 18:19

Taking a page from the guitargeek.com artist diagrams (http://www.guitargee...r-setup-diagram), I decided last week to do my guitar gear in Illustrator. This is the first major vector project I've done in a while beyond logos. They aren't perfect and I'm definitely still working out the line shapes, but I'm pretty happy with the results.

Below is somewhat of a step by step design look at the vectorizing of a 2001 Fender Telecaster, Traynor YCV40 tube amp and Proco Turbo Rat. Still left to tackle is a Boss Digital Delay 20 and a TC Hall of Fame reverb pedal. If all that goes well, I might even work on my two acoustic guitars.

Intercontinental Soccer League

December 26, 2012 - 14:26

Inspired by Raysox's yakball thread, the MLS rebranding thread and as a temporary distraction from my own Can/Am hockey rebrand (http://boards.sports...k-city-empires/), I decided to start a side project for a 5 region indoor soccer league.

The basic breakdown is 10 teams in 5 leagues, with the top two teams at the end of the season in each region playing against each other and the winners moving on to a FIFA World Federation style championship tournament where the winner will be declared Intercontinental Champion.

I'm hoping Raysox won't mind that most of the cities will be similar to those he has chosen, based mostly on metro population, but I will do my best to use different colour schemes and sponsors to separate my project from his.

That said, my league is a lot smaller and will include the regions of North America (US/Canada), Scotland/England, Spain/Portugal, Germany and France.

Starting off in North America, the cities are as follows:
- Brooklyn Lions
- Los Angeles
- Windy City Regiment (Chicago)
- Toronto
- Vancouver
- Montréal
- Locomotive SC (Dallas)
- Calgary Athletic
- Ottawa
- Philadelphia

Team name ideas are welcome, so feel free to make suggestions. I would prefer that names tied into the cities either derived from landmarks or historical events and would rather avoid naming clubs FC, as in Toronto FC.

Sneak peak: New York City Empires

December 2, 2012 - 22:55

Here's a sneak peak at one of the jersey sets I've created for a rebranding project I'm working on. The idea is that in the year 2014 the NHL folds and various pro teams are sold off, renamed and given fresh identities in a 24 team league with lower ticket prices. I'm done preliminary semi comps for 3 of the 24 already, but want to get a bit a bit of feedback before I dive into the other 21 teams.

As well, if anyone wants to weigh in on names for the remaining teams, below is a list of the cities. Keep in mind that each city has been selected based on it's fan base potential in a small league. We're looking to create a league with lower ticket prices as well as mostly traditional hockey markets, so please save the hostility over the elimination of sunbelt teams, since the project is trying to focus more on the NHL pre Gary Bettman era. I'm looking for names that represent the cities where the teams are located, so feel free to weigh in and let's make this a fun project.

The proposed teams are as followed:
American Conference
Patrick Division

-Boston

-Buffalo

-New York City Empires

-Philadelphia

-Pittsburgh

-Washington

Norris Division

-Chicago

-Denver

-Detroit

-Minnesota

-Seattle Totems

-St. Louis

Canadian Conference
Adams Division

-Halifax Explosion

-Hamilton

-Montreal

-Ottawa

-Les Traqueurs de Québec (Quebec Trackers)

-Toronto

Smythe Division

-Calgary Chinooks

-Edmonton

-Saskatoon

-Winnipeg

-Vancouver

-Victoria
