  1. They would've been a lot better in my eyes had they not gone for the asymmetric look.
  2. This has always confused me...how come those Teal Pistons jerseys show up as a vibrant darkish Blue in some pictures?
  3. While I much prefer the look of their current logo, I really loved the "Fiesta" colors and would love to see them return in a tasteful manner.
  4. Wait. So you mean to tell me that they would've introduced a logo with even more black in it than the one they use now, yet run with a jersey set completely devoid of even a hint of it? What is it with this franchise and their apparent inability to use black correctly?
  5. You're not the only one. "Phila" always looks incomplete to me, and it really sounds stupid when you say it. If they absolutely just have to use an abbreviated version of "Philadelphia" as opposed to just using "Sixers" (which isn't that good itself, when you think about it), then why not use the abbreviation that everyone both knows and actually uses? Shoot, I actually think they should take a shot at putting "Philadelphia" on the jersey. If the T-Wolves managed to fit "Timberwolves" onto a jersey, the 76ers using "Philadelphia" can be done.
  6. I can agree with this. The classic Dolphin look gets a lot of love because it was around so long and grew on everyone because it has basically been a staple of the NFL for as long as the majority of people can remember. But toning down the orange, brightening up the aqua/teal, focusing more on the clean white and teal look, and modernizing the dolphin are all positive changes. I really like the Dolphins' update, but I can't agree with that at all. They definitely should've used Orange more. At the very least, they could've used it to break up the Aqua/Dark Blue, which blends horribly on the white jerseys and pants. And while I think moving away from the helmeted dolphin was a good idea, I'm baffled as to why they decided not to use the classic "dolphin leaping" shape in order to keep a link to the past.
  7. I don't know how unpopular this is, probably very, but I've found that the only time I really like the RWB color scheme is when white is the primary color on the jersey. The scheme looks really bland/unappealing to me otherwise.
  8. oops...said this before the official release and the first appearance of the pants.Heh...I think this proves how big of a difference the pants made to the overall look. And how big of a mistake it was.
  9. Agreed. The idea is nice, I see what they were going for, but the execution is poor. The set as a whole just looks a bit sloppy. Care to elaborate? I honestly think the originals were one of the best modern nba designs of all time. The only thing I'd change to update them today would be to drop the detailed tim on the collars and maybe make the drop shadow less dramatic or replace it with an outline. Those changes seem pretty minor. Sure. It's the angled asymmetric side stripes that really drive me crazy with that set. Having it angled one way on the jersey is fine, but I really wish that they would've tried to keep it going on the shorts, rather than having it end abruptly on the jersey, then repeat itself on the shorts. It looks a bit disconnected like that. They've always looked really sloppy in motion to me for that reason.

  11. I've never been a big fan of the red & yellow color scheme for the Rockets, and I think it's slightly overrated. I know they won two championships in them, but if you ask me "name a red-and-yellow basketball team GO," I'll say the Hawks 10 times out of 10. I think they did good by going back to red as the primary, and I'm cool with having a red & yellow alternate, but full-time and forevermore? Nah.
  12. I've never been a fan of the creamsicles, but I have to say, this is a REALLY good looking matchup.
  13. I thought that Sonics' set was great, especially for that time. I understand why they ditched it though, and the set that followed it was really, really good. I'd love to see what a set like those 90's uniforms would look like if the deep red was replaced with that nice shade of blue the Seahawks used during the 2000's.
  14. Thank you. It's nice to hear reasons behind design preferences other than "I like/don't like that," it provides an opportunity for my own thoughts about design to evolve. I'm a big color person, and I tend to place a higher value on color balance (how well the key parts are highlighted, cohesiveness, team identity, etc) when judging the overall success of a design. Strangely enough, that's another thing that's being lost in this age of random one-offs and mismatched fabrics. For my design preferences, I feel that the Raiders and Packers pull off the "simple" look much better than this does.
