Combined with the fact both of them are married to other people and have kids, and both parties come out of this looking pretty :censored:ty.

It's just that back in my day, they were always the added-on elastic material.

Even if they're not technically the same thing (and I think that by definition, they are), we're talking "cuffs" vs "cuff trim", so for all intents and purposes, it's the exact same.

It bothered me at first when the Phillies changed from "cuffs" to "cuff trim", but now I prefer the latter, as now I associate the former with the '70s and '90s.

Clearly tighter elastic, sewn under the sleeve (so much so that the top white isn't even visible... but I think this is a one-off, as any other examples were normal, but not suitable to make the point:

Then at some point, they went to the ribbon-wrapped cuff trim (these are from '22, but they probably changed well before.)

Also - the neck trim for most teams was also the elastic style:

Dich Such's (lololololol)jersey. I still remember when this style changed - it may have been the SF Giants or Washington Nationals that did it, but I could be missing someone.

I suppose it could be done, though that logo will still need some tweaking.

I'm starting to think the endgame of all this will be for the office of the commissioner to take point on these negotiations, 1) so that their white-shoe Park Avenue lawyers can stomp all over the local yokels like the NHL's did to Glendale City Council, and 2) because the Bears are making such a hash of the stadium shakedown scheme that they risk ruining it for everybody else. If NFL stadiums only last 30 years now, then Charlotte, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Baltimore, and possibly even Seattle should all be coming due, and a couple of those metropolitan areas don't bleed into states full of morons!
